I liked how they were admiring each others hits like that one hit and the other guy was like “WOAHHH”

when someone holds their sword above their head while walking makes watching this kind of sparring matches really feel like im watching npc's fight in a game

You dont have armor here. Theres no going back once you fully commit to a move. This is closer to a real combat than kendo in that regard as both dont want to actually be hurt or actually hurt the other.

It takea a great deal of mental and bodily control to fully.commit to these actions while also looking out for the safety of your fellow iaidoka.

They both know when each other messed up, got hit, or would have died. But the point here is to experiment, use your training, and also in a way join with the soul of your opponent to no longer think of their next move and you move, but rather just be.

May I inquire, is free swordplay a regular practitioner at your school? Or was this a one off sort of interaction?

Beautiful stickmanship. I always wondered how they used boken for practice without getting hurt.

Acho legal que as artes marciais chinesas e japonesas são incríveis não importa se é do mundo real ou na ficção, elas sempre vão ser fluidas, e lindas de se vê

Also good to watch if you’re struggling to write an action scene!

Why is this called a match? That's a spontaneous choreography. They are even telegraphing their attacks to each other lol

Everything is fun until one says.. ban Kai..

Compared to kendo, it's more fluid.

"One strike to attack the many" ON SAMURAI BASIS ITS TRUE U CAN SACRIFICE TO SLASH U BUT YOU CAN EVADE CLOSE TO IT AND MAKE ARTS WHATEVER U WANT OR MAYBE KILL THE OPPONENT. I DONT ALWAYS RELY ON KATANA ON FIGHT. IF YOU KNOW BUDO YOU KNOW DEATH. THATS MY KNOWLDGE BASED ON EXPERIENCE KATANA FOR ME IS SELF SACRFICE. EGO. EVEN GUN EGO. ALL WEAPON ARE EGO. IF YOUR GOOD PERSON YOU DONT RELY ON EGO SELF EGO WEAPON. A EGO IS SELF SACRFICE. A SELF SACRFICE IS EVIL.

❤❤Psalm 73:26 - "Though my mind and body fail, God is my strength; he is all I need." Please spread the gospel before it's too late. Thank you for reading, Jesus loves you.

Sorry but this is very poor, the guys are just giving tit for tat methodically, try Hema, beginner sparring is way more intense and the methods and techniques are just as sophisticated as Asian arts, I very much doubt the samurai trained the way modern practisioners do

Кто сказал, что эти клоуны занимаются иайдо?
Я имею первый Дан по иайдо и второй по кендо и ничего общего с этими дисциплинами здесь не вижу.
———

Who said these clowns practice iaido?
I have first Dan in Iaido and second Dan in Kendo and I don’t see anything in common with these disciplines.
