I believe there are so many variables on our current roadways that make self-driving vehicles unsafe.
If the self-driving vehicles had their own roadway, maybe then self-driving vehicles could be safe.

I saw my first self-driving vehicles when I was I was in Junior High at DFW Airport. My dad was one of the engineers that designed it. It was called Airtrans. Dad had to work on the weekends and summer on it and brought me along so I could see it. I was a nerd that loved science. He told me how it worked. I loved going there. It was the highlight of my summer and weekends.

🤦🏽‍♂️ not only do they want to make the vehicles electric they want to make the driver obsolete as well... I'm staying off 45 now

A self driving 80, 000 lb truck is scary and I’m surprised that’s even legal not including all the jobs that will be taken away from hard-working Americans.

Nice idea there are still some more questions to be asked here
1. How would it respond to brake failing
2. Prove to me how this is much safer than having a real human behind the controls.
3. Does your software have any security flaws that would allow a hacker to take over the controls in cause a serious issue to happen.

if it is a self-driving truck, why does it need a sleeper

Unreal how stupid some smart people can be.

Question; if no one is driving, why does it have a “sleeper”?
Never mind, I get it. That’s where all of the computer equipment “rests”.

I wonder how it would handle a white out situation or black ice, and how does it fuel up at a self serve or pay for the fuel or fix the flat tire or fight someone trying to steel it.

Having driven an 18 wheeler, this is NOT a good idea. Wait until they are sued to oblivion for killing a family.

I would love to see those trucks drive on snow roads and black ice

It will be pretty easy to stop these vehicles and loot the contents, sounds like a carjacking dream come true, , just get in front of one of these self driving vehicles and it will stop.

Let's be logical about this. And discuss the cost/savings.

Big trucking companies can save $$ billions with this technology. But, how much do I have to pay?

Those trucks will require liability insurance. How much will I be forced to pay extra in this shared responsibility of having insurance?

They save billions, by shifting the cost onto the consumer. Once again, the media fails to see the elephant in the room

If you can get them to stay in the sloth lane when going up hill. Speed limit 80mph west TX until a truck takes a hill then they want to pass 50 mph in the hammer lane.
