I'm an accomplished amateur classical pianist. I currently have a 2018 3rd generation iPad Pro. It's permanent home is the music rack on my 7'5" Grand Piano. It's dedicated to run the Henle and forScore music apps for reading music scores. Everything I play or would want to sight read and play is on my iPad Pro. I love it. On May 15 I will be picking up my pre-purchased 2024 1TB iPad Pro and Apple Pencil Pro. I upgraded solely for the larger brighter 13" OLED screen. As my iPad Pro is dedicated to reading piano music scores, screen size and screen quality are of paramount importance.

I am in orchestral French horn player. Having just one device carry my entire sheet music library is a godsend. I have thousands and thousands of pieces of music loaded onto my iPad and I’m able to retrieve it in it tap. And then I take notes on my iPad with the pencil. But there is no way I’m upgrading to the M4, all of my accessories cease to work.

I’m in an individual with a physical disability. I have tried to use MacBooks but keyboards can be difficult for me to use so I prefer a touchscreen and the portability of an iPad Pro so my 11 inch M4 iPad Pro arrives tomorrow and I can’t wait. I may eventually even get the magic keyboard because it is still lighter and easier to move around

Thank you for being the only one I've found thus far with a side-by-side of the OLED vs. Mini LED. Well done!

As a full time iPad user, I 100% agree with you regarding the limitation of the OS.
I use my iPad Pro as a laptop replacement. It runs Da Vinci Resolve, Lightroom, File Management (File Apps needs a lot of work), Meetings, Conferences, Photography classes and also my multimedia device while on the go.

Reason why I decided to go to an iPad Pro is because of its form factor and all in one aspect.
While yes, having a MacBook Pro was more powerful and less limiting, it was a pain to carry the MacBook Pro, Wacom Tablet and bigger battery banks when travelling for photography tours and etc.
Every gram I can save will just save my back and pocket from paying extra carrying on per trip.

So yeah, the new iPad Pro 13 M4 is a welcome addition to my business and I am so keen to see the improved thermal and computing performance from this iPad Pro.

Just to an answer to your question in the video :)

I am a blind content creator/researcher and a QA engineer. I bought the 11 inch pro to offset the load off of my iPhone and my Mac. I bought it to write code easier, yes it is actually easier for me on iPad. I bought it to edit my videos and content and am incredibly happy for the Final Cut camera app because the physical switches are incredibly unfriendly to blind users because of the Black Magic software. I do glitch photography on my iPhone and does I am super pumped for the new pencil too.

As an Architect I use my ipad pro 2019 constantly & cant be without it - It's perfect as a device for carrying out measured surveys on the notes app - drawing a plan out using the drawing tools & colours to differeniate between items - Drawing over photos just taken to show on the go proposals, Using to show previous projects on dropbox to win over new clients - Review meetings, mark ups & revisions - dropbox links to my whole Architectural portfolio - Meeting notes, snagging, Sketchup 3D ....the list goes on!
Have a 13" Pro + keyboard & new pencil on order - as all these additions will make all these uses so much better
and easier to use ! such a great companion to have at all times -
Never a replacement to my PC though for proper work!, just to supplement it & use as a second screen & entertainment device too!!

I am a digital artist and I've just ordered the new pro. My first ipad pro I've been able to afford. I'm so excited for the new pencil and the better screen for my colours in my paintings. I was considering the air but now seeing the screen difference I'm so glad I went with the pro

As a professional musician who actually uses an iPad Pro for my job everyday, I honestly would rather use an iPad than a MacBook for 99% of my own personal work. The ability to use the pencil to add edits to sheet music while using ForScore which keeps 11, 000 pieces of music at a tap, and the ability to remove it from the keyboard and place on a music stand while adding Bluetooth foot pedals to turn pages along with not having to ever worry about the battery is invaluable to me. I use Logic Pro to record, and it is actually very intuitive once you adapt to it, and it seamlessly communicates with my recording interface without having to worry about drivers or compatibility issues. I understand that everyone’s use case will be different, but the gatekeeping about what counts as “real work” can get a tiny bit frustrating. A laptop just isn’t as useful for me, so having a future proof machine with the ability to adapt to my own needs is invaluable. Your mileage ay vary to be sure, but as a professional musician/classical guitar professor the iPad Pro is my dream device.

Thank you so much for checking the PWM frequency. As someone who has sensitive eyes this is actually very important for me.

The OLED is the biggest draw. Finally, an iPad with OLED. The one thing I've been waiting for years for. I actually had one of the first iPad Pros but couldn't stand the LCD screen. I have an S9 Ultra that is equally as expensive as the 13" iPad Pro. Unfortunately, like all Android tablets, it's choppy and has uneven performance. You may complain that there isn't enough reason for an existing owner to upgrade or switch, but for discriminating and picky people, some of these "improvements" feel life changing.

Appreciate the PWM discussion dude. I have real problems with PWM flicker and it's so rarely covered by reviewers.

As a music teacher an iPad could be fantastic, but since most programs I need still only have Windows and macOS versions it‘s completely useless. I would love to only take such a small and versatile device with me and it works very well to view notations, etc., but I‘d need all the software to write such notation sheets as well like the full version of GuitarPro and that‘s just not available. Not all companies will develop iPadOS-versions, so as long as they don‘t allow macOS on iPads or find some other way to at least run macOS-programs within iPadOS (which shouldn’t be too hard now that it’s the same SOCs powering both device types) it won‘t do the job for me. It‘s all right there, Apple!

I preordered the 11 inch 512GB option. Interested in Oled screen and lighter weight. My experience with 13 inch tables is its less of a handheld device and needs a desk or something to rest on to use. I mostly use mine holding it surfing or watching videos before bed. I use it every day.

At this point I'd rather have my M1 iPad Pro with Mac OS than that M4 iPad Pro with iPad OS.

Even though the M2 iPad has lower performance, for most people that performance is fine. Especially since most people use their iPad primarily for Netflix and YouTube video watching. Very little time spent drawing and taking notes.

I'm a college student & use my iPad Pro every single day, all day. All of my textbooks are on it, I take all of my notes on it, do all of my assignments on it. So instead of packing around 3+ heavy textbooks, notebooks, folders, etc, I carry an iPad. & I freaking love my iPad. Pre-ordered the M4 the moment the event ended. Can't wait to get my hands on it tomorrow! 🥳

Finally, a video that mentions the combined weight of the iPad and keyboard. Haven’t been able to find any specs until now. The new Logitech version is lighter than Apple’s keyboard btw. Thank you.

I have the M1 12.9 pro and have ordered the M4 13 for delivery tomorrow just because I want OLED to watch my content and it’s a bit thinner and lighter, faster chip is a bonus, we don’t all have to justify having to use the M4 to its fullest to upgrade. It can be one little thing that tempts you and hey you only live once so if you are in 2 minds about getting it like I was. Just order it.
