If Anakin killed Obi-Wan on Mustafar; this would tick Sidious off, as it means Anakin would be able to kill him off sooner rather than later. It also means he would be even more cruel than he would’ve been in the suit.
I think, if this were to happen; then Anakin wouldn’t be able to turn back to the light; as the impetus to change wouldn’t be around: the suit of armor we all know and love.
However; he could change if Padme was fine, and he left the inner rim with her; heading to the outer rim, and they lived on an world like Achto.

You know after watching the clone wars the series it leaves me confused, he in the movies says that obi wan was holding him back but by the end of the clone wars were brothers in arms! He hadn’t been a padawan in years with his own padawan. So saying kenobi was holding him back doesn’t play as well anymore!
