America is currently plagued by the hydra-headed evil duo of inflation and recession. The worst part about this recession is that consumers are racking up credit card debt. In April alone, credit card debt went up 20% while rates have doubled in a year. Inflation is so high that consumers are literally taking debt for basic life necessities. Collapse has indeed begun..

This economy is dreadful. We are already in a severe RECESSION, if not a DEPRESSION. Car sales are down, and car repossessions are up; housing sales are down, and foreclosures are up; capital expenditures are down, and layoffs are up; shipping costs skyrocket while truckers lose money; office vacancies are up, and office buildings are sold for pennies on the dollar. HOW IS THIS NOT A DEPRESSION?

So many smug jerks in the comments section bragging how they’re doing great because they’re so damn smart about how they spend/save money while judging everyone else who is struggling.

According to Biden we have never been better off under his admin. Markets are at all time highs. Blah blah. Talk to the people in the streets. Different story

I am a female widow 72 yrs old, crippled with RA and COPD. I can't work and I would die on the streets. The last vacation I had was in 1990. I had a good job and I lived frugally, always beneath my means. I used every spare dollar to pay off my mortgage. Today with no debt and a paid home, no HOA fees and low property taxes, I barely get by but I live better than most. I am an ant in Aesop's fable and my home is not open to crickets.

A lot of businesses cut the hours of their employees to cover how little people are purchasing. This hurts their employees. I’m luckier than most because I work part time and full time. My husband works full time and overtime and we still can’t make enough money.

The economy is collapsed since the pandemic, getting worse every year! I felt less poor making $7.50 an hour before the pandemic than I do making $11 an hour now!! It brings me to tears sometimes, because I make so little. I live in an old house that I thank God is paid for, with my parents. My father gets a measly $1, 300 a month in a disability check. My mother has no health insurance, I have no health insurance. We share a car. We had to take the public bus for months on end. I belittled for my position as a housekeeper, but I keep it because I struggle with getting hired anywhere that pays more than minimum wage. I feel sorry for us all. God bless those with children/ large families/ with house payments because I’m honestly dumbfounded at how y’all even survive, see how hard it is to just get by with 2 incomes & 3 people. Take it small incomes like all together only $2, 400 a month & being denied food stamps but still. To afford to feed & cloth a large family sounds impossible these days & times. Sorry for the long rant brothers & sisters, I just know we all need to let it out because our government is shitting us & watching us wither away 💔 Love y’all, God bless ❤️
