so i should carry a bowling ball with me instead of a gun to protect myself.

this is the most underrated video on youtube

I think of it like this. If an object is moving and a force of 1 newton is applied in the opposite direction to its motion, its kinetic energy is the distance in metres it moves until it stop, its momentum is the time in seconds it take for it to stop.

A constant thought of mine as a new bowhunter, light fast arrow or heavy slower arrow. Going with a heavier arrow

Thankyou so much, funny and intuitive. But I still wonder why design the concept of momentum and kinetic energy, what situation to use which?

its so familier to each other that i thought its just 2 word with the same evening before i saw your vid (im home school btw)

The example is interesting but there is no explanation about Why the time taken to stop both objects is calculated with the variation of momentum and the distance taken to stop both objects with the variation of kinetic energy. therefore it still doesn't explain to me the difference between momentum and kinetic energy.

in reality, the bowling ball and the bullet would explode.

Would like to ask you a real world question. If you find this distasteful, please delete, ignore and I apologize. I am a hunter and I have consistently heard experts not versed in physics say more mass in a projectile is better than less with equal KE, i.e. a bow shooting a heavier slower arrow vs the same bow shooting a faster and lighter arrow. Same force propelling projectile. Which arrow would travel through more watermelons?

Example Object 1 mass=5 velocity=6 Object 2 mass=6 velocity=5 momentum of Object 1=30 momentum of Object 2=30 Ke of Object 1=90 Ke of Object 2=75 Same momentum, different kinetic energy. What would happen if Both collided in perfectly elastic conditions

There is no kinetic energy in a moving mass there is force Mv squared kinetic energy is the energy of consistent work from a consistent force regards Graham Flowers

Thanks! Really helpful! (I wanted the bullet to win lol)   :)

Actually, the Bullet can destroy the bowling if the bullet could transfer full energy, the bullet would win
