In my hometown we gave a huge temple car (தேர் என்று தமிழில் அழைக்கப்படும்). Every year on one auspicious day it will be pulled around the town for like 5km. It weighs close to 400 tons. When it moves (eventhough very slowly at just above walking speed) it needs to be maneuvered by experts using sliding and stopping wooden blocks. Otherwise if it hits a hard object there will be extensive damage to the car or the object it hits. Here the car although moving very slowly it causes huge damage when blocked due to its heavy mass. The momentum ofcourse is the killer.

Car can also be dangerous because it will have the momentum of 1000 kg m/s

Car collision can be dangerous or can cause injury to the person.
As per the formula, p = mv, the car's momentum comes out to be 1m/s x 1000kg
The momentum will come out to be 1000 kg m/s, which of course is dangerous.
Thanks for the video!

The crash can cause severe injury to the person. Momentum=pv, momentum=1000kg*1m/s=1000kg m/s. The crash will transfer 1000kg m/s of momentum to the person and the person could be injured or killed.

no sir, the bullet is more dangerous because the force applied per unit area is high in bullets but less in coconut. that is why it is easy to kill a man with a knife but difficult to kill with a chair even if the momentum of the chair is much higher than a knife. thank u sir for explaining the concepts with real-life examples.

If we consider the object’s surface area at the point of impact as related to mass velocity, I think the conclusion would be different .

“The origin of creating momentum lies in the application of energy. Momentum serves as the initial cause of pushing and pulling. For example, when energy is applied, it generates the necessary momentum for pushing and pulling to occur. Without the application of energy, momentum cannot be created, and consequently, force cannot be exerted to push and pull since it lacks a physical existence.” ~Guadalupe Guerra

hello sir i really like your video it make easier the hard thing and for the question is it can heart what is the person because the mass of the car immense and to wall it can not get any crash because the speed of the car are very small thank you!!!

Sir, I want to ask you that can we consider energy instead of momentum for measuring how dangerous is the moving body.
When the coconut was on the tree, its PR was mgh, there the stored energy in it was 1 kg x 10 m/s^2 x 15 m. Thus, its stored potential energy would be 150 J. According to the Law of Conservation of Energy, its final Kinetic Energy would also be equal to the stored potential energy. So, its Kinetic Energy would be 150 J. So, it would hit the person with 150 J of energy.

On the other hand, if I consider the bullet, its KE would be 1/2 x 1/100 kg x 400 x 400 J, which is equal to 800 J. So, clearly the bullet is exerting more energy than the coconut.

Sir do we need to consider the formula Pressure = Force / Area? Wouldn't the bullet be more damaging because it has less area
