I have a “Knot” book. I take it up camping, gardening, you name it with me. It is color coded per rope strand. I still have problems. I love your videos! What's the use case for this compared to a standard bowline?

You should face the working end of the line towards you and the end of the night away from you when teaching this. It's how people tie it when they're actually using it. Then they don't have to flip it upside down. I was always told to hold it like it's a certain body part in my hand😅

Started with the figure 8, ended with a double bowline. Cool video but I think the figure-eight is stronger so should just stay with that

This knot can be adjusted to make thos 2 loops into a seat and waist harness with a remaining tail of 2 to 3 foot tail to tie a taut line or Blakes hitch around the other side of the rope... If that other side is around an anchor such as a tree limb you could let yourself down or back up a tree... or rock face.
