Watching you, and other foreign youtubers reviewing chinese cars, made me realize how much money i wasted on my 3 cars for nothing special really... soon i will sell my headache wrangler and get BYD SONG L DUAL MOTOR then next year hopefully add BYD Denza z9 gt. Screw all these Japanese, European and US trash and extra price overrated vehicles.

WOW! What a show, thanks for the legwork covering that massive Chengdu show. The choice is just mesmerising & the high standard of brands there is mind-blowing.
Chinese automakers have really taken the BEV world by storm with their technology, software & design.
Legacy auto should be really worried & I very much doubt we'll see them as they are today by the end of the decade.
Great show & thanks for showing us around.

Saw myself in the background of the Lynk & Co booth. I guess I can now tell my friends I am pretty famous. Great vid as usual.

If I was a local citizen I think I would have choice embarrassment. So many brands...
The quality is seriously going up year after year, specs and design. They are working hard & it's clear.
I see that they are embracing the flashy/ quirky colors too (everyone seems to be fed up with white, grey and black).
We are in a worldwide recession & that means people are either looking for bargains or if they treat themselves they want all the things in their car.
I almost feel bad for 🇩🇪 legacy auto (but they were warned years ago & frankly, their offering is underwhelming & dated).
Thanks for covering the event for us 🇪🇺 .

Zeekr's new SUV and Mix MVP looks great. Chery Fulwin is promising. Woyah with 900 km CLTC range is also great. Very competitive market and some brands will focus on exports rather than being succesful at their home court. And thank you for a 2 and a half hour video! Much appreciated.

Oh man! I cannot thank you enough. You must’ve been exhausted by the end of that. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole video. Genuinely, you deserve a round of applause for that and for the editing you must’ve had to do afterwards. I should imagine your arm was aching from just holding up the camera. I absolutely love your channel, it’s one of my go to YouTube channels that I tell everybody about. I cannot praise you enough. Well done, buddy.

Hi Mark just 30 minutes into your amazing walkthrough of this huge motor show, what's immediately obvious is the high level of quality of these Chinese brands, and I know I keep saying it but you're so lucky how much I love to be there with you . I got another 2 hours to watch so I'll talk back later

Thank you for the effort! I subscribed. Chinese car brands are the future. I really like the Denza Z9 GT and the Avatr 07, hope they come to the Netherlands.

Great effort Mark, much appreciated. My worry is if even half of those come to the UK people will be so overwhelmed they may just stick to what they know. Although on the other hand the non-Chinese car makers much be bricking it as like it or not the good times are over for all of them. I've followed the motor industry for years and know just how much they have been ripping us off so I don't have much sympathy. And I don't think people in the west know the impact it will be to them given the impact on many of these brands that have been around for decades.

Looking forward to your new website. As you asked what I'd like to see, well a reference to every Chinese make and model, but appreciate this would be a monumental task so probably not viable.

Also looking forward to your podcast. I'd love to hear your thoughts on why Chinese brands keep bringing out new sub-brands before they've established their current ones and often appear to compete with each other. Seems crazy.

Thanks! Watched it in full. (half of it while doing workout). So many brands and models(cars and humans..) . It is almost impossible to keep track.

But one takeaway.
Many complains about why BMW, Audi and other puts big grills on EV when not needed. Looking at the show i realize why it is needed. How many large sedans called something with 7 did you present in this video? I lost track of it. If you took all of them, removed the badges and then asked people to name them correctly it would almost be an impossible task. So difficult for the new brands to find their identity when everything looks the same.

Thanks again. Looking forward to the next video on the channel.

32:08 Remember when we talked about how BYD is taking over the world now Xpeng made sub 18k $ midsize sedan that have lot of tech inside (i'm not trying to knock on BYD btw). The chinese car market moves so fast 4-5 months feel like distant past.

Firstly mate...well done and thank you so much for this. We'd all the be lost without you- especially us Aussies. In a rare situation (by having no local car manufacturing to speak off) we are somehow in the firing line for a lot of the stuff coming out of China and this video is a great way to get an overview of where things are heading. The lack interest in legacy brands is definitely a snowball effect we will see here. Question for you - from everything you are seeing- it looks like most of these manufacturers have abandoned physical controls for majority of the functions- we're looking at a very screen heavy future?
