I am sober for 10 days. I relapsed after 3 years and I had a hard time giving up after binging for a week. Never try a drop, it kills everything, especially your emotional well being. It drags you into unnecessary depression. Your organs can recover after you quit but healing mental well-being takes a lot of courage and patience. Keep away from poison, please 🙏.

Achohol is a wicked game we play with ourselves. Not many people can keep it to a glass of wine here and there. The point of this show is to say. You have free will, do what you want but everything has consequences and you are not unique enough nor is your case different enough that you will escape these health issues Dr Axe speaks of. Be smart!!

Brilliant...The most insightful interview on alcohol that I've come across to date ...covers all aspects on alcohol issues within the mind, body & spirit . As a family with genetics prone to heavy everyday drinking & the effects it has on oneself, I found this interview more than helpful. Thank you Dr Josh.

So true! The Third Testament also states that alcohol blocks the enlightening nature of the Holy Spirit, preventing us from elevating our spirits to a higher level.❤

I thought that the wine we have now has a much higher alcohol content than in ancient times? And lots of other additives. I wish that industry was required to have the Nutrition Facts labeling on their products also.

I love your podcasts Dr. Axe. I would like to present another possibility for why red wine might show benefits in small amounts. It seems that studies are showing that large amounts of alcohol are not beneficial. Also studies seem to be showing that sugar and highly processed foods cause fatty liver. What if it was sugar all along that caused fatty liver? Everyone I know drinks rum and coke, high sugar wine, pretzels at the bar, etc... there are obviously no studies to prove that the sugar content in alcohol is the problem but that would explain your theory that a little red wine with meals might be beneficial. It makes a lot more sense than the tiny bit of resveratrol in it

Just one drink makes it not worth it. I like the buzz from alcohol but I need at least two drinks to achieve the reason I wanted to drink in the first place.
