Battlestar Galactica's final jump from nBSG's Daybreak / Finale episode.

This is just the 1080 that I saved at full quality as 4K so that YouTube's compression algorythm will not be so harsh when viewed at 1080. Looks best at 4k on a 1080p monitor.

I was a navy engineer for years. Watching the engines relight at 0:30 struck a chord with me, because somewhere offscreen belowdecks, I know there's an entire department of wrench-turners, firefighters, and electricians working frantically in extremely hazardous conditions to keep the ship in one piece and ensure the bridge still has power available. This shit is hard enough on Earth, let alone surrounded by vacuum. The way she hogs and breaks her keel is incredibly realistic, and I just want to appreciate how much homework the writers did in making the ship itself feel believable.

Endless kudos to this show, nothing else will ever come close. What amazing fucking television.

This is still a hard scene to watch. Galactica was not just a ship. She was a character.

0:09 You can see a viper falling out of the pod.

After all that damage, her engines still fired, and she carried her people home.

Galactica just rained debris of itself, including an entire Viper onto the surface of the moon and I'm just waiting for us to go find it.

So some bits of Galactica's hull fell to the surface of the Moon, perhaps to be discovered one day.

That ship went thru hell and back. Nuke attacks and such.

I get so attached to the ships in Sct-Fi. This scene had me balling. I was yelling at the screen like it was a collage football game. The Galactica was a main character.

Reminds me of my 1990 ford Ranger after the Motor blew. 17 years and 376K miles into her. Paid 8k for it. After 17 years on Detroit roads and salt it looked like the Galactica.

As was said of another fine ship, "You treat her like a lady, and she'll always bring you home."

Hope nobody was in the Vipers that fell off the flight pods....

You know what I think was the REAL reason Galactica broke her back during the final jump? Something they've been warning about for literally the entire series... the flight pods were still extended. Galactica is not supposed to jump before retracting the pods.... so she snapped.

I'm still bothered by the state of the continents portrayed on Earth. I know they had to do that to visually let the audience know that, for sure, that IS the planet Earth you're also on, but it's incredible inaccurate for the time when Neanderthals or early Homo sapiens existed, as depicted at series end.
