My favorite aspect of this series is that the oldest Battlestar and the oldest vipers in the fleet survived due to their antiquated technology not being vulnerable to the cylon viruses and hacking technology. In the combat scenes you don't see a lot of fire and forget type weapons, mainly direct fire navel guns and automatic canon fire while most cylon weapons seem to be some type of missile. Even pegasus was eventually lost with her updated weapons and electronic warfare tech. I loved how they used the TA 1 field phones as props too. I say this all the time, just because it's older technology doesn't mean it's not still relevant in modern warfare.

What a beautiful send off. This is sort of a starship version of a Viking funeral. And for Galactica it’s a fitting end.

Galactica, daughter of humanity and last of her kind. Having safeguarded the last of humanity to a new world knew that her duty was fullfilled and her time was up. Set off with the remnants of the caravan into the sunset.

Content in the knowledge that despite never seeing her wards again, they where safe. And could face oblivion and her long deserved rest with a smile.

One thing i never noticed till now is that there is a Celestra there. That ship was probably One of the main contributors in repairing damage to the fleet. Nice to see her stay with her patients till the end.

A beautiful send off for The Galactica and the fleet, they were not just ships but characters with their own stories.

And the Galactica shepherds the herd one last time.
To Galactica, finest ship in the fleet.

*Ship of ghosts. If you served, there's a whole other level & layer to this. When you look, you see the past. Old friends long gone. ASMR moments that were... there are ghosts all around us, phantasms no one else can see.*

Love the pop and turn of the engines at 1:45 as he flys between the hull and the horizon.

hmm, probably one of the best sci-fi series I've seen. Adam and his imposing and wrinkled face. This is what a commander should look like. I was very impressed by that, his respectable appearance. no painted superhero😊

Somehow season 4.5 still seems brand new after these past 15 years…

I'm not sure who endured more.
Galactica endured so much physical trauma, and Adama endured psychological.

To see the best ship in the fleet sent of into the sunset knowing her mission was completed brought a tear to the eyes of this old colonial warrior may the gods watch over her

In the original show, the robotic "Cylons" were actually built by the race called the "Cylons", who initially had tried to conquer the galaxy, but they were constantly thwarted by a local race of humans, who'd always get in their way. Apparently at one point they all suddenly died off, possibly at the hands of their robotic creations. Nevertheless, the robotic Cylons would continue their creator's plans, nearly wiping out all of humanity in the process, & forcing the last surviving battlestar to flee, along with what remained of the 12 colonies.
This was just the epic beginning to a beloved series, that the new BS Galactica doesn't even come close to,
or to paraphrase MC Hammer,
Hey, new BS Galactica...
"You Can't Touch The Original Series!"

Perfection? Really? Okay that is JESUS. That IS perfection.

This was all BS, the original series was a million times better!!!
In fact, that's what this show should be called...
BS Galactica where the BS stands for bulshit!!!
Give me a show where the Heroes are Good & the Villains are Bad, NOT one where the Heroes are actually Cylons, except they don't even know it.
