I’ve got a huge video for you guys today! Another BBB (Ben’s Build Breakdown) This time with a Toyota Cressida, owned by Alex. This video is so informative and large I decided that it’s going to be more of a guide to the Toyota Cressida as opposed to just a BBB. If you enjoyed the video or learned something make sure to sub :)

I don't know where you got that it was vinyl. I know for sure my parents' Cressida had leather seats. The paperwork even said leather. But my best memories of the Cressida was how high tech the Cressida was. Seeing the automatic seatbelts for the first time was just mindblowing. The stereo was amazing and had like a 9-band equalizer. Literally 9 levers to tweak the sound to the way you wanted. I didn't get to drive it when it was new because I was too young. But they kept it for a very long time (well past the debut of Lexus) and it was my first car. It was so fun to drive. The inline 6 was great, it was rear wheel drive, and the handling was super predictable so you could really push it.

This got me excited to finish working on my MX83. A couple of notes here:

Transmission is an A340E four-speed, OD switch controls the car switching to 4th gear which is over 1:1 so its considered "overdrive." These are also pretty good transmissions for drag racing applications and they do have a reasonable amount of aftermarket support with performance kits that are rated to 850 HP. A manual is better for just about everything though.

Also first gen Maxima was sold in the early 80s based off the 280ZX platform, it was RWD with an L28E and marketed as a Datsun, Datsun by Nissan, and Nissan.

note: #0000 steel wool for buffing and polishing chrome. The finest, thinnest grade of wire wool. #0 - #000 is too coarse and will scratch. Always use only #0000.
Enjoyed the video!
