Letting go of Life is Strange - Life is Strange Fan Theory

Spoilers ~ A life is strange fan theory discussing my previous theories and the larger meaning for Max and Chloe.
Life is strange is an episodic, interactive, choice based game that was developed by Dontnod Entertainment, and published by Square Enix. The game will consist of 5 episodes in total with 6 weeks in between each release.

Life is strange is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360.

Life is strange is a graphic adventure played from third person perspective. The characters and story arc are the main focus with rich character detail and a sense of nostalgia given from the themes of memory, identity and adolescence.

Life is strange has set it self apart from other choice based, episodic, point and click games by incorporating the time rewind mechanic that allows users to redo and reshape the path of the character however there are consequences big and small for all choices made. It also allows the protagonist to dig up more information from people during conversations.

Having only recently returned to her home town our female protagonist experiences prophetic visions showing the destruction of Arcadia bay and discovers the ability to reverse time.

Follow Max Caulfield a shy, awkward, photography student at the prestigious Blackwell Academy as she finds herself pulled towards discovering the truth behind a mysterious disappearance of a student, with the help of her rebellious childhood best friend Chloe Price.

In the second episode of the series Max is in the midst of trying to wrap her mind around her time traveling powers with help of her newly reunited friend Chloe Price.

In the third episode of Life is strange join Max in the aftermath of Kate's attempted suicide as she tries to finally get some answers by visiting Blackwell late at night with the help of Chloe Price. They discover some disturbing facts and Max discovers a new aspect of her ability.

In the fourth episode of Life is Strange Max is confronted by the alternate reality she has created as a result of changing the fate of William, Chloe's father. Things are certainly brought to a head in the darkest episode of Life is Strange yet.

It also kind of makes me think of infamous one when Kessler made Cole choose between Trish and 6 doctors it was like could you set aside your selfishness to save many which is more important the life of one or the lives of many?

max had to learn the lesson that she can't return to the past and change her decisions. the whole game she was trying to return to her time with chloe and have the friendship that she left behind when she left arcada bay. in the end, max had to accept and live with her decision to let chloe go, the decision she made when she distanced herself from chloe after moving away from arcadia bay...

But the true tragedy in the end is that friday max who hijacks bathroom Max eventually fades away and with her fade the memories and the true understanding of Arcadia bay. The separate timeline where both of them grow is gone and everything is back to what it should've been.Max has to live with not actually knowing what chloe went through(and her failure to keep in touch when she was in seattle) and chloe, in the initial time line, has to suffer a death where she feels unloved. But there's hope that the spirit animals transcend time and space and that they amass the growth and knowledge that the characters go through in the various alternate realities.

A third option...
Max, sacrifices herself in a way!
That first scene, had the lighthouse fall on top of her, when suddenly she woke up in class..
It could've been symbolic, in a way if she had intervened in the bathroom scene, and have been the one who had been shot, startling Nathan, instead of Chloe..
As, instead of the beginning where she only acted a split second late after the fact when Chloe was already shot!
Had she been braver and less hesitant, she would've intervened that much sooner and Chloe wouldn't have been shot!
So.. Third option, Max sacrifices herself, and Nathan is arrested, with Chloe finding out about everything from the journal of Maxes..
The latter's fate, could've been left ominous in a way..
Falling unconscious and been taken to hospital, in a severe state..
Will she live, or will she die.
