TODAY'S VIDEO:

Today's video is of a live radio debate I had on the BBC for a programme called #MoralMaze. In the debate I was asked a variety of different questions by two meat eating panelists. However, the debate became particularly heated when one of the panelists attempted to call me out for using the phrase gas chambers.

She felt "quite miserable" to have to pass up a KFC.

I hate when people bring up like 10 arguments in one run on sentence, and you try to respond to one of them, and they interrupt you, like it's so disingenuous.

It's interesting how the woman objects to you using the term "gas chambers" but refuses to answer when Ed asks which term she would prefer him to use instead

"I don't like that you're calling gas chambers 'gas chambers'. You're obviously trying to make me think of gas chambers, when really, what we're talking about is gas chambers. Totally different."

Insanely ridiculous. Well done for not letting that last interviewer get away with that comment.

"I'm not defending factory farming" while trying to justify gassing sentient animals.

“I don’t like when you use the term gas chambers because while it may be entirely accurate it makes me look bad”

"Don't call them gas chambers. You're being too emotive."
"What would you like me to call chambers full of gas that kill sentient beings?"
"We have to eat meat for warm fuzzy feelings. Stop harshing my mellow."

"I am asking you a very specific question" Brilliant as always.

"You tell me what phrase you would use to describe chambers, that are filled with gas, that are used specifically to kill sentient beings?"

Ed's ability to maintain a calm respectful demeanor is legendary and something I've tried to emulate in my own outreach content.

Videos like this are why Joe Rogan doesn’t have the guts to have Ed on his show. He would never allow such logic on his illogical show.

It's always interesting that in these debates is always

1) Hosted by someone who is not impartial and often flaunts how much they like eating flesh. This often always extends to the audience if there is one.
2) Vegans never have the majority of the seats in the conversation. There can be 1/1 vegan to carnie, but the vegans must Never outnumber them during a debate. And if you include the host, it's already outnumbered.
3) The vegan must have an amazing answer for every single question thrown at them, but those answers can and often are ignored and brushed aside.
4) The carnie is allowed to Not have answers to responding questions from the vegan, can deflect responsibility, and can just ignore points made and move on to the next talking point without ever addressing what was said or corrected.
5) Despite everything listed, the carnie is not obligated to change their view. But STATING that they have not changed their view, is used to discredit the reasoning from the vegan. "All good points, but I still like my meat." and in some cases with a live audience, will get applause.

That last interviewer... The implications of her position are insane.

How you keep your patience with people who speak over you to try to keep you from making them sound stupid is incredible. Very well spoken. Great animation and well done in the interviews.

Absolute chefs kiss....the lady was so confident in her argument, and kept interrupting you, but your last word absolutely decimated her argument and exposed how insane it is 💚

Ed is the best vegan influencer / activist out there. No anger, no hatred, just pure facts.

This is the impossible challenge vegan activists face--the things we do to animals are so grisly, so extreme, so beyond the pale, that an activist can't simply describe them plainly without being accused of emotional manipulation.

Ed's patience and grounded reasoning is ultimately what always gives him the upper hand in the audience's view. Unlike his opponents, he's not here for the satisfaction of his own selfish ego. He's fighting for the voiceless and vulnerable, and that is a great strength. Despite his patience, you can sense when he gets slightly annoyed by bits of extreme ignorance or hypocrisy people often show in full display. And yet, he know that getting angry is not the answer. A peaceful approach is the very embodiment of veganism.
