Seventy years ago as a highschool girl I worked on a place where the owners rented out horses for people to ride. The owners son and his friends took me with them when they went to a place where people dumped their garbage to shoot at the bottles. This was a time and area when that was a popular thing for kids to do. Little did I know how much I would enjoy old bottles and watching you dig up history.

Could you do a video showing what you do with these treasures after you find them?

I have a site like this on my land. There are chards of old dinnerware sticking out of the ground, and we dug down a bit and found a medicine bottle from the 1890s. Someone digging for a test pit for my septic system when I was building my house also found an old bottle. He may have destroyed that area with his back hoe, though. My land was part of a farm. There is still a horse-drawn plow in the woods. Anyway, you have inspired me. I'll have to wait until the spring, though.

Very interesting finds. Right off the bat you were pulling out some nice items. ThX for sharing. 39:40 Nice, I'm from Davenport. Emil J. Kistenmacher's Drug Store was located at 307 W. Second St. in 1909. Emil was treasurer of the Davenport Rifle Club in 1916.

The is a market for pendants made from pieces cut from old china and porcelain plates also from old hallmarks. Also have you ever used a bottle cutter to make vases or glasses out of bottles with the tops broken off. I love watching your digs. Drop by Wisconsin some summer.

I am about 3 weeks new to your channel. As a child, my folks would take us to old abandoned cabins or homes around up North Michigan. We would also walk and find old remnants of stone walls or corner stones of old homes. As we walked around the sites we would find low areas and sometimes jars, old bottles, bowls, once an old partial gun and stock. I have a number of old glassware from these trips. Watching your show, makes me smile. How fun to see what was buried in Privys. If we had known that was the hot spot. I am sure more would have been exposed to us finding. Love your channel.

The pieces you are digging out are so exciting and intact. These pits were so exciting, got my heart beating with the finds. That beer stein and then clay pitcher and that sample bottle with owl, moon are amazing finds. My dream is to have a antique wash basin and pitcher in the blue design. I was offered set as a kid from a nice farmer and his wife, I would visit often when at Grandparents cottage, I could not take it from them, I kick myself now as that would be 55yrs ago and they were in their 80’s then.

Enjoying the stories behind the finds, especially knowing some of my family ancestors were from this region dating back to late 1800's.

Love watching your channel! Do you have plans to make a museum out of your pieces, or do you sell them, or give them to the owner of the property? Would love to be able to see them in person. Some of the broken porcelin pieces would be worth keeping as well. If you leave them there, I'd personally be interested in the broken pieces you find.
I make jewelry with vintage jewelry hubs & dies from the late 1800's to early 1900's, so this time era is very interesting to me.
Would you have considered this a middle class family, from all the wine bottles, doll heads, child's toys and ceramics, decanters, etc.?

Have you ever thought of selling some of those broken bits of china and glass to crafters who do mosaics and the like? I can't help but think that some would love to get their hands on antique stuff like that, especially the china with patterns on it.
