In this video we show you how to find underground pipes, lines, and cables. By no means is this a replacement for diggers hotline. ALWAYS call before you dig! But if you want to get a better understanding of what is going on in your yard underground here is a helpful way to find out. We hope this video was useful, thank you for watching!

"Witching" is a art form. We do water well drilling and a guy that I work with is very good at it. Has found water, water lines, buried wells and septic tanks. I can walk across a mud hole and they will not cross for me. Thank you for a great video, have a great day and spring is on its way!!

Years ago I worked as a telephone lineman and an old-timer power lineman showed me that trick with copper wire. I was skeptical at first until I tried it myself, then I was amazed. That telephone box you pointed to is called ped, short for pedestal; a junction box for underground cable. Thanks for another nice video.

Yep, it really works. I was a sceptic until my nephew, who works for a county water agency and said an old-timer showed him how, showed me. Even with all the high-tech equipment his water agency has, they occasionally use these rods...

We called this "whiching " and I watched my dad and a neighbor both, do this several times when I was a child. WOW ! Can't imagine how many "young'ens" are watching this in 👍

I remember 30 some years ago, that is how we decided where to drill a well. Always great videos. Beautiful landscape where you guys farm. Thanks.

Always good to see the "Old School Methods" of doing something being used. Here in my area they've called that method "Witching". Thanks for taking the time to show this method of finding those things underground. Take care.

My wife’s dad could do that! We watched and it brought back great memories. We enjoy your videos extremely! Keep up the good work

Great video, very interesting how those metal sticks can trace lines under the ground. Glad you demonstrated it working in several different areas and lines. It is always good to talk with older people as they have a lot of life experiences to learn from.

nice to see that it (has) been used all over the world. Sadly we kind of forget all this and think all the electronics do a better job. Finding Waterwells, where to put your house ( many people have problems sleeping because it is built on the wrong site ) etc was common practice with these divining rods. Good of you to show it

Man that's funny I was just talking to a guy the other day about dousing rods. It really does work all the old timers used to show me that. Go figure this is just another thing that your old man has a really excellent explanation of haha. Awesome video buddy

I learn the wire trick to find underground things back in the early 60's. Never failed and even works with farm drainage tiles also.

My best friend's family used to do trench work and he dug the graves for the cemetery in town. Anyway Randy's Dad was very good at doing this.

Good old dad was a big user being a pick and shovel guy, I prefer the grip and rip approach of firing up the backhoe and digging. They used to use those here to place wells.

We call it water divining here in Ireland. Years ago people would pay guys to divine water for wells for farms or houses. Some guys still do it for farmers reclaiming land.
