After 5 years, Jagex finally opens up about the largest secret of them all; the Mysterious perk from Invention. What does it do? How does it work? Let's find out.

Just a quick note - the evidence in the video was enough to claim Twilight Ash's bounty for the Mysterious perk, so it's no longer available. I've also had it confirmed from a Jagex source after the video was published that the theory in the video was right - the perk does absolutely nothing but tell you something mysterious has happened.

I think, mods used it to test perk activation percentages, named it mysterious because what else could they call it, it used to print the amount of times the perk triggered after x amount of rolls.
Or it is mysterious, so even the mods doesn't know what it does!

Could be that it does everything and changes like gives you a gem when mining or does nothing continuing to keep changing so the it does nothing could be the winning answer along with doubles a drop then rolls again and get a rare item if it continues to change it fits in to everything

Would be cool if the perk sped up a cooldown for some kind of global event. A perk that was neutral to you, but beneficial to the community.
