How to study for Biology - 99.95 ATAR Guide

How to study effectively biology (high school biology, university level biology etc) is the focus of this video. Biology is one of the most content-heavy subjects so using the correct approach is important to avoid countless hours of memorisation. There has also been a change in the types of questions that are being assessed in biology exams - which need to be targeted through understanding the concepts and ideas in a more holistic fashion.

- base notes off learning outcomes / syllabus. address each point
- type notes in notion
- try to explain concept in your own words
- use different sources
- notes are training wheels

2. link n connect diff concepts
- turn notes to visual form (humans remember images more)
- 5 main visuals

I’m studying to get into university, especially biology courses. But, my exam requires the HS biology, and I have to review and relearn everything. That’s why I’m here. I’ve been using flashcards to memorize some concepts and terms, but I think that making mind maps would be a great strategy too because we have to review what we’ve learned.

actually, recall training is still considered the most effective method of study/training.
however there is one key point to consider, and that is comprehension.

a lot of people think "i know english, i know what im reading, " but dont retain that information,

slow down, spread the sections of a chapter out, digest the information slower, and think about each thing more extensively then whats written on the paper,

then, combo that with recall training for reinforcement. the flash card should ask "why is this so?" more than "this is so."
