The reason people apply for tourist visa from UK rather than Ireland is coz your first port of entry will depend on the issuer of Visa, from India most of the flights are for London but none for Dublin. So if you get the tourist visa from Ireland then you have to land in Ireland first then you can go to UK incase of BIVS tourist visa.

The cost factor also plays a role in choosing UK over Ireland. UK Multiple entry visa for 6m costs maybe around ₹10k whereas the Irish visa multiple entry is ₹14k ( as you said). And as others have said the connectivity to London is much better than to Dublin. But as you are reaching from AMS, that’s not a problem for you.

Ireland is not as interesting as Spain, Italy and Switzerland. Honestly, it is the most boring country in Europe. You can explore entire Dublin in just 1 day. I personally found Nice and Milan much better than Dublin.

Ireland may be richer than Spain and Italy but Infrastructure is relatively poor. It may be too cold to visit Ireland in March. Pack a rain + windproof jacket.There are no immigration checks between Ireland and Northern Ireland (Belfast is in the UK) so you may wish to take a chance and visit Belfast.

Train services aren't that regular and frequent like in other European countries but there are regular buses if you don't want to hire a Car. Try visiting other small towns and countryside in Ireland. They are much beautiful than the capital Dublin.
