Nvidia's RTX 3050 was just launched and I am not impressed to say the least. In 2016 we got the GTX 1050 for $110, in 2019 we got the GTX 1650 for $150, and now in 2022 we get the RTX 3050 for $250 if your lucky. At $250 the RTX 3050 is barely acceptable even when factoring in inflation. Realistically this card should have come in at no more than $200 even considering it has RTX features and is based on the GA106 GPU.

Buying this card at over $250 is definitely not worth it and will certainly contribute to the ever increasing prices we see on PC and I simply cannot recommend this card or the RX 6500 XT at all.

I suppose if you have absolutely no other choice this is a much better option than the RX 6500 XT.

Picked up a 3050 through Newegg Shuffle. Not disappointed at all. Sure I payed a little more than I wanted but it's better than literally double that for a 3060 or higher. Shoot your shot and take what you can in this day and age.

Its crazy how amd made intel competitive im the cpu market again and now intel may make amd and Nvidia competitive im the gpu market. I love budget setups and hope the arc gpus can pull a win.

Due to the rise in common GPU support components and shipping costs every step of the supply chain from raw materials including their own input costs to customers' hands, Intel's entry-level GPUs won't be as cheap as low-end GPUs used to be either. Prices won't be coming down until supply catches up with the demand backlog and I doubt this will be happening before late 2023.

This card is a beast! With it and a I5-12600k you can build a top of the line pc for about $1200. You can play any brand new game 60+fps including games like cyberpunk, assassins creed Valhalla, and battlefield 2042

you're forgetting the part where older cards have less support time anymore and that the 3050 is an RTX card with cores built for ray tracing

Except the 1050 and 1650 were Incredibly weak, weaker then previous gen 960, and 1060. 3050 is more like a 3050ti in tdp and performance.
Now the actual problem is that it's not $250

You're forgetting an thing. The RTX 3050 beats the 1660 Super / Ti across the board, and sometimes matches the 2060. Adding in RTX and DLSS support, it is in no way comparable to any other 50-tier GPU and it is totally worth it at $249, and even up to $400, considering how high the price is for 2060s and other cards in its class

I had a 1660 Ventus XS OC and man that thing could run. Never hit 70c even under full load with a 300mhz overclock. It was a badass card.

The 3050 is not meant to be a low end GPU, it's still is an RTX card and it replaces the gtx 1660ti, not the gtx 1650
