How to RE-program Xfinity Remote to cable box/THE RESET2

Can't change channel on your cable box? Remote NOT working on your cable box?

YOU"VE TRIED THIS AND NOW NOTHING WORKS?... BE SURE TO POINT YOUR REMOTE DIRECTLY AT THE CABLE BOX WHILE YOU REPROGRAM REMOTE.

Cable Box Won't Power Off?... If you have programmed the remote to control your TV, the All Power button will turn your TV on and off. Your Cable Box must always be powered on to perform regular functions (like software updates and DVR recordings). To turn off the Cable Box, you have to press the Power button on the top or front of the box, or configure the Cable Box to go into Power Saver mode by saying "Power Saving Mode" through voice remote. Or you can simply leave the Cable Box on while turning off the TV.

Still works as of November 23, 2024! Thank you! My daughters' old remote was damn near chewed up...lol Got a new Xfinity remote today and was able to set the new one up no problem following these simple instructions!! Much appreciated bro!!

This video was a lifesaver for me. I’ve been having this problem for months with my remote, couldn’t use it to turn the volume up, couldn’t use the voice control sometimes, couldn’t change the channel. For old XR 11 remote, hold down setup button on bottom left of remote… light turns green at top, enter same 981 code as in video, easy reset. Don’t like the feel of the XR 15, so paired old remote to my new box. Thanks for video.
