INTJ vs INFJ: How They Are Different

The INFJ and INTJ are similar with regard to their penchant for abstract thinking and exploring the deeper meaning and significance of what’s happening around and within themselves. They are forward thinking and tend to make carefully planned decisions with a future goal or purpose in mind. INFJ and INTJ both share a strong vision of what they want out of life and are compelled to invest in their future and to embark on a meaningful and largely self-reliant path to success however they define it.

I’m an INTJ and my twin brother is an INFJ, interesting dynamic. We have similar views on things but I’d say he’s a lot more sensitive and I’m more assertive . He’s the kindest hearted person I know, extremely understanding, generous and I’ve seen many family members take advantage of him.

I was an INFJ a couple of years back but something emotionally traumatic happened to me and it turned my whole world upside down. Now, I'm back at track to fix my life and I was quite surprised when I had a personality test and it turned out to be INTJ. I could definitely notice that I have been constantly keeping my emotions in check for the past few years since my emotionally traumatic experience. I am now less invested in trying to empathize and deal with others' emotions. I would just rather focus on my personal circle.

The Difference Between a INTJ and INFJ

I never noticed much of a difference between a INTJ and INFJ. Both dislike superficial people yet frequently end up marrying one. They are sweet, adorable and caring individuals. But no one actually likes being around them for protracted periods of time. You cannot outsmart these MBTI types. They are extremely observent. Most can identify your intentions and motives within seconds. Sometimes even before you speak. They give Clairvoyants a really bad name. INFJ's have a problem being around large crowds of people. INTJ's have a problem being around anything that is breathing. A INFJ will lament that none truly understand them. A INTJ doesn't care what people think unless it interferes with their plans on world domination. INTJ's have friends with 'benefits'. INFJ's have 'benefits' with no friends...I don't know means so please dont ask. INFJ's will scream "Geronimo' when skydiving from a plane. A INTJ will yell, "You forgot your parachute moron!" Cannibals won't eat a INTJ because they are high in cholesterol and avoid INFJ’s because they not Kosher. INFJ women are the epitome of grace during a relationship breakup. INTJ women collect men's testicles in a small glass of water by the bed, much like an old woman keeps her dentures at night. Needless to say aggrevated empaths are nothing to fool around with! INFJ's are refered to as 'The Counselor'. INTJ's are refered to as 'Innocent Until Proven Guilty'.

I came out as an INTJ in all tests. But I am not into data/mathematical and technical stuff. I am a medical professional. But I am more interested in political institutional reforms, philosophy of science, paleontology, population genetics and deep historical research. What does that make me?

I got INTJ on my personality test and yes I now understand why we are considered arrogant, but honestly we are just more cut throat and wanting to get the task done rather than consulting feelings or evaluating someone’s psychological state

I think when I am around humans, I am a INTJ, but when I am around non-human animals, I am an INFJ.
I am curious. I wonder if any other personality types have this struggle between feeling like one or the other when there is a difference in just 1 letter.
