It’s really remarkable how fast Norm can chew someone up and spit them out with a joke and move onto the next. His humor was misunderstood by so many, but was so smart and just fantastic.

The thing about Norm was that he spoke slow, as if he was an old senile man trying to form his thoughts, when in actuality he thought a mile a minute and was always ahead of wherever the joke was going

This is what Norm does to his friends. They all expect him to say something fucked up, but then he expects that they expect that, and he goes clean. Then they always feel bad for laughing at something fucked up, meanwhile Norm gets to take the moral high ground, because he technically never said anything.

Norm had a way of knowing exactly how people would respond or react well ahead of time. Some say that makes him a great comedian, which it does. But even more so it shows he was very empathetic and understanding of people and their emotions. Rip
