If you've never read "The Resurrectionist" by Wrath James White I would recommend it. It's extreme horror in every way, but he's a good writer and there's some depth beyond the extreme violence.

The disturbing psychological horror book Let's Go Play at the Adams' was out of print for 40 years and is now back in print.

I'm excited to see reviews for extreme horror! I've been dabbling into it a bit recently too!

I'd like to recommend Max Booth III's Touch the Night (published by Cemetery Dance) - a brilliant indie novel that left me feeling like I'd been punched in the soul.

Another recommendation would be the novella True Crime by Samantha Kolesnik published by Grindhouse Press. It's just relentless from the beginning until the end.

Finally, Go Down Hard by Ali Seay (also from Grindhouse Press) is a fun, fast and rough novella.

I'm definitely checking some of this out!

I read The Between recently and loved it! Such great characters. I have a Kristopher Triana book on my July TBR and I’m excited to give this author a try.

What a coincidence, I've read extreme horror too, accidently, of course!

Off-topic.
Re: Indigenous writing. A friend just told me about the Trickster trilogy (fantasy, set in BC). She said she enjoyed it. Have you read those books and if so, thoughts on them?

Gone to see the River Man by Kristopher Triana was fantastic...also pretty graphic but not more than Clive Barker for example.

I think Body Art sounds really cool 🤣 I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it! Not sure I've ever really read extreme horror. I'm currently working on an upcoming video on my channel on the scariest books I've ever read and it's really difficult!! Considering horror books really don't tend to scare me at all, it's going to be a tough list to complete! I want at least 5 books to talk about. What is the scariest book you've ever read???
I am hoping to read Kill Creek and House of Leaves soon but with House of Leaves I really want to make sure I buy the right copy as I've heard certain editions have bits you need to read in a mirror etc and that's exactly the one I want haha

Check out The Brotherhood of the Wheel and its sequel King of the Road by R.S. Belcher. They're both like a cross between The DaVinci Code and early Stephen King horror novels. The Knights Templar didn't disband, they just went underground and back to their original mission - protecting innocent people traveling the highways and byways of America's arteries - aka America's highway system. Not everything on the highways is exactly human. Their motto: The Wheel Turns. As one character in the first book quips, "Looks like AAA has some kind of Black Ops." p.s. This series has been optioned to be turned into a TV series. p.p.s. I classify this series as leaning more Dark Fantasy/Horror - not extreme horror like the books in this review.

Something similar happened to me! I heard some buzz about Wrath James White for writing some of the most extreme horror. I thought I’d see if I could handle his poetry collection ‘If You Died Tomorrow I Would Eat Your Corpse’, not realising it’s all extreme erotica. I think I’ll stay inside my safe bubble.

Cockblock sounds like a more graphic version of The Twilight Zone’s episode Not All Men (season 1 of the new series)
