How to Make Eggless Banana Mug Cake

This mug cake is moist, flavorful and ready in seconds.

INGREDIENTS
1/2 Medium Ripe Banana (Mashed)
1 Tbsp Milk (dairy or non-dairy)
1/2 Tbsp Coconut Oil (or canola oil)
1/2 Tbsp Honey
3 Tbsp Whole Wheat Flour
1/4 Tsp Cinnamon
1/8 Tsp Baking Soda
1/8 Tsp Salt
1 Tbsp Raisins

Mix all the ingredients, then cook in the microwave for about 45 seconds and enjoy!
(1000 watt microwave used)

Best microwave recipe i have tried so far. Here's some tips though:

- for the love of god use enough baking soda. I didn't at first and it turned into weirdly solid pancake batter.

- 45 seconds might not be enough. The cake should be solid, it'll probably be a little white on the top but it should be mostly brownish

- don't be discouraged because it didn't work the first time. Try again!

- chocalate chips instead of raisins is great in case you were wondering

- some vanilla extract might be nice, i'll try it soon

- it's not very big, you might as well use the whole banana and add double of all the ingredients

- let it cool down before eating. I learned this the hard way..

I've been making this for months, al least 3 times a week. I use chocolate chips instead of raisins, vegetable milk instead of regular one, and tablespoon of ground flaxseed for more fiber, also used oat flour instead of wheat. I don't like to use honey either, I feel it kinda overrides the other flavors in the mix. The recipe is highly customizable :)

My bananas were all in a paste and I opened the fridge to get some milk. There weren't any. Now I have a mug filled with mushed banana. I don't even like bananas. This is a sad quarantined night.

Ok so I tried this and it needs to be microwaved way more longer than 45 min. I did around 1 min and 30 sec and that worked. I also used unsalted butter instead of the oil and I added about 1/8 tsp of vanilla. I also used choco chips instead of raising and I topped it off with the other 1/2 of the banana and almond butter! It was yummy!

I made these with my kids earlier - we had to use plain flour instead of whole wheat as we didn't have any in. They went down a storm and will definitely make them again! Thanks for the recipe :)

I must leave a comment! I literally saw this 5 min ago and made it as I have all the ingredients on hand. It tasted SO GOOD. I substituted the oil with melted butter and the raisin with the other hand remaining of the banana (into slices topped with some butter), reduced to 5g of honey, and I microwaved for 40 seconds instead of 45 seconds. Oh ye, I forgot to add the cinnamon. It tasted so warm, moist! Thank you for such an awesome recipe.

Been making for around 6 months now and still delicious! I made it with an extra half of banana without doubling the rest and although the texture was more dense it was really good!

I just made this for 3 people including myself. It was AMAZING! It tastes like an oatmeal cookie combined with carrot cake. Btw I used oat flour instead of whole wheat flour. 😋

I tried this many times and here are some tips: 1. If your banana is not ripe, microwave it for 30 seconds WITH the peel, if its still not ripe enough repeat. 2. Use All purpose flour instead of whole wheat flour for god’s sake. Whole wheat flour has a disgusting smell. 3. Add one full tablespoon of honey instead of half. Trust me it tastes better. 4. In my microwave it takes 2 mins. It depends on the microwave wattage so it differs. Poke a tooth pick or chop stick through it when done if it doesn’t come out clear microwave for another 30 seconds and check with toothpick again. 5. Honestly you don’t need cinnamon, if you dont have it, you can skip it. I think the cinnamon counters the odd smell of whole wheat. I tried both with it and without it, and i like it without. 6. For those people who are complaining that it’s coming out like a paste, check your cup, use ceramic/ china not glass other material. 7. I feel you need 1/8 plus half of the 1/8 of baking powder or soda they mentioned. I used baking soda only.

I made this without the raisins and added one tablespoon on sugar instead. Turned out Love the banana and cinnamon combo 🥰

It was a good recipe ..
I tried out this with mashed banana, butter, milk, dates, raisins and instant oats and ground peanut.
No sugar.
It cameout as a superb healthy full breakfast ..

This worked great for me!
Subbed honey with a tbsp of brown sugar and added walnuts and omitted the salt.
Cooked for about 100 seconds checking on it in between and it came out nice! First mug cake I was able to actually plop out of the mug onto a plate! Great work 👋🏾💯

Edit: Making another one for breakfast 👷🏾‍♂️🍌
