There's also one excellent early game raw longsword people apparently didn't notice; hornetaur longsword.

The final upgrade has 759 attack, natural purple, 300 hidden paralysis, 0% affinity and a lv2 slot. You might think comparing a final upgrade weapon to early game options are unfair, but here's the kicker;

While most other weapons needs materials that newer players doesn't have access to, final tier hornetaur weapons only need small amounts of MR odogaron parts, which you can access pretty much immediately through rotten vale expeditions.

This gives you a weapon with hidden para, natural purple sharpness and completely exorbitant raw damage compared to everything else you have at early game.

Alternatively if you don’t have handicraft jewels you can replicate the build in exact with the exception of effluvia expert. You just replace the coil with kushala y and add paralysis jewels instead. I went for a fortitude jewel to replace the spare slot as for more casual players such as myself, I could catch a faint here or there and with monsters we are unaware of how to bully, it helps a lot. Hope this was useful.

I know my path wasn't the best but it really worked for me... I crafted a full set of Hornitar armor and upgraded a dragonbone longsword untill i killed viper kadachi i made his paralasis longsword through the tobi kadachi tree and ended up switching to beo gear at this point.... once i made it to Glavenus i crafted all of his armor but i skipped his head and picked up a Luma phantasm hood with a exploiter charm 2 and i used to alll the way untill i killed Acidic glavenus to upgrade my tobi sword and fought and killed Valkhana to craft her full armor set with my upgraded Tobi sword using the basic Jewels i got from quest rewards this set can carry me through every elder fight to farm any end game set i wanted but i would recommend making a small switch to the Golden Rathian longsword after Valkhana armor because the poison damage with really speed boost your hunts combined with 60 units of white and MASSIVE chunk of raw damage.

This is a awesome build! Personally instead of the bone helm i like to use the rathalos b+ helm since it comes with attack 2 and another skill i can't exactly remember plus has two gem slots so vit could still be put in. That's just me of course
