Quick update to this. At the very start you can spam your poison bombs while in ghille to get the initial poison proc off and then focus on just doing what can you melee wise to the head while he's down. Keep in mind priority is weakening the head for the wallbounce. If you're running 2 piece rath the poison is 1200 damage which is worth, otherwise it's only 600 so keep that in mind.
Alternatively some folks have pointed out that you can get most of a Rajang HBG Wyvernheart off immediately after the cannon knockdown. Damage is slightly higher to a weaken wall bounce so if you have the setup to gun go to town.

First time I managed to pull the opener off, I got my first kill, solo as well! Thanks a lot, really helped relax the amount of dps needed throughout the fight.

This legit helps a lot with solo runs, I'm on the typical casual struggle bus and I got Fatalis down to glowing chest and Dragonator range. I'll have to try this with the crew when they get there.

By the way, I made a slight improvement: switch to Rocksteady before you shoot the right cannon, so you don't get flinched by his roar. And as for the right cannon, nudge it one push to the left so you don't have to wait until he's in front of it.

As for hitting him after he goes down, I discovered you can perform a full perfect rush and tenderize before he fully gets back up.

That opening can be much cleaner everytime. No need for temporal mantle. Right canon 1 push to the right, left canon 3 pushes to the right. Fire right canon when fatalis head goes to his left, your right, and immediately move to the left canon and fire.

Absolutely no need to let fatalis get a move in before you fire the second canon. You need heavy artillery skill, and you get a free down, no bombardier required, still 450 a hit. Also rocksteady will allow you to ignore the roar.

Just a psa, don't pod spam. You could be slowing down everyone's dps by making him flinch during a move that every can take advantage of. Like when he's doing a flamethrower and everyone is right next to his head.

So my Fatalis is not just sittting in the middle he is shooting at the red headed hunter.. I set Bombs and his fire breath explodes them before I can shoot cannons

If u turn the first cannon you loaded one time to the right it will hit him from there, dont have to wait for him to charge up to u. go stand by the second cannon, throw ur rock at the bomb then fire the 2nd and he will never actually get a hit on you. He will get close but will ko first. No need for temporal

For 4 people. You can change to Safi aquar shot build max paralysis atk, sleep atk for more dmg to the head. After that you can change to your original build.

Cannons are only good when you first start the hunt,
it takes atleast 1 MAYBE 2 minutes to set them up but
when you get them set you can do an instant cannon knock down
if atleast 7-8 cannon shots hit him in either single to triple player
hunts as long as you have heavy artillery on the set. This also helps
break parts like the wings if they hit his wings with the cannon fire. Good luck fella 🗿🚬
