A way to get more points is with the scholars charm. It adds +5 per trap if you report to the handler.
I just tried it and got 90points for 3traps when before it was 75.

An extremely fast way to level at least the dessert area, is to encounter a barroth.
In the muddy area between the forest and the wildspire waste are these "Water plants", Tümpelkapsel in german.
Collect and use them with your slinger to remove the mud from his seven bodyparts, each counting as a "part broken" event.
I don´t know if you can use a water weapon for the same effect.
You can collect these parts, which I found very usefull while hunting a tempered barroth, to recieve additional material.
When he heads to another area, he will very soon return to the muddy area, and regain his armor of mud. Repeat as you whish.

leveling from 6 to 7 still takes a whole hella time with traps..

No you can do this solo in expedition all you do is run around collecting monster tracks in each region a big boost to leveling up each area is if you find signs of a turf war! You can choose to kill low and high rank monsters you fought before you doing icebourne expansion this that means no monsters from iceborne the monsters from the base game MHW this also helps. Also caputring monsters gives a big boost to regions so make sure to have alot of pitfall and shock traps and tranq bombs!

I had an idea, but no crew to test this with:
Have Ghille (hiding) Mantle as well as Decos that make monsters ignore and/or less likely to see/attack you, find a monster for the area you want and just follow it around gathering it's footprints? Would that work (Shock Trap method is probably way faster, but I was just wondering as this way you wouldn't need to use any consumables)

This is a good method I can try and modify for just myself; I don't work with others

Issue I’m having is not as many players play MHW on steam and no one’s doing the Guided Lands which forces me to solo a lot of the grinding sadly…

This is such an amazing video. It’s short, very informative, and over well made. Thank you for the information!

Just attempted to do the traps, we not only lost points in 2 areas, the only area that went up, went up about 5% after about 20 minutes of traps. We're either missing something fundamental, or this has been patched.

If you do this for the wildspire waste, do it to a barroth and clean of its mud. Rinse and repeat
