I’m also a blind artist who is losing remaining vision. It’s terrifying and I don’t like it. Over the past year, I’ve been exploring more tactile forms of art. Learning ceramics has been great for me. I feel like this medium is one way I can continue to express my creativity if/when I completely lose my vision. Change is hard and stressful, but I encourage you to keep trying new things.

You are so humble. "I don't want my full vision back, I just want to keep what I have." I am still sobbing.

That's Pete Gustin, the Blind Surfer's motto as well: Find a Way. I am so sure you will, whatever happens, however things progress, you'll find a way to do what you love. 💛💛💛

If our love could restore your sight, you would have perfect vision. ❤

Don't kick yourself. It's important to have hope in our lives.

I watched a John Green video last week and he ended it in a way that I loved and I think can help most anyone, "We do not yet know the end of the story, and as such we have cause for hope, and also we have work to do." so don't give up, even if this doesn't work something later might and you have work to do. I love you guys, and Mr Maple. stay strong, stay safe.

Not only are you an amazing artist, but you’re a great story teller too. I remember all the stories you tried to tell Matthew while he was doing one of his silly pranks lol

Balancing hope and acceptance is one of the hardest parts of being chronically ill. If you lean too hard to either side you risk getting your heart broken.

Even if you lose your vision, you can still modify your art style to make it more sensory oriented. Also never apologize for having hope. Hope is something that keeps us going.

Paul, as pointed out this week by Molly grieving your blindness is okay. It will never not be something that you don't grieve. I hope that you continue to hope. Because hope gets us through the day. Your content helps get me through some very bad days. Much love and appreciation. Matthew please give Paul a hug?

Never kick yourself for having hope. The world sucks right now and we need hope. You, Matthew, and Mister Maple remind me that things are not all terrible. Keep hoping. ❤

I have Parkinson's, so I totally get what you mean by if you could just stop the disease where it is that would be fine. I do great and have adjusted to my life with this level of inconvenience and meds. I'm content with my life as it, I just don't want it to change for the worse, but with a degenerative disease I know that's almost inevitable inspite of how well I've done the past several years. It's likely the first "cure" for Parkinson's would be halting further brain degeneration and just the other day I was think how great that would be. If someone told me that were possible and then it turned out not to be true I'd be devastated too.

I know no matter what happens you'll keep being creative, that's who you are. Big hugs ❤

You've had sight, you'll never lose your "vision". Explaining your vision to someone and finding that right person to work with that gets you and understands and visualize what you're "seeing" is the hardest part and that's not even a major bump. I have faith you'll continue to create amazing books. You'll find your way.

Don't give up hope, Paul! It's important not to give up. Don't kick yourself for having hope. I know it is discouraging to be turned down for clinical trials. I have been turned down for a few, myself. I have a rare connective tissue disorder called Marfan Syndrome. We all love you both.
