In the comics, when Skurge died, he found himself - much to his surprise - in Valhalla. He objected, saying he is not worthy to be there, but the other heroes present quickly assured him that everyone says the same when they arrive.

Skurge pulling out two M16 and easily taking down like 20 undead soldiers surely had some of those Asgardians thinking "the fuck are we doing still using swords and shit"

Hela is lucky she’s dealing with Skurge and not Butcher. He would’ve stuffed some C4 where the sun don’t shine and given that a try.

This is a good redemption moment. Skurge always wanted to be a hero and important amongst his people like many aspire to do and was lead on a wrong path for a while. But at the end of the day, he chose to make a change which is more than most people ever do. He chose to sacrifice himself for his people and be a hero. It’s never too late to be a better person.

From a tool of Loki to an pawn of Hela to a Badass dual wielding two M16s just to sacrificing himself for Asgard's people...yeah Skurge earned the title Exexcutioner. Gotta love Urban for his part in this flick.

Theory: Hela enchanted the M16s giving them bottomless ammo and allowing them to fire with the dust cover closed. She likely didn't understand that it needed to be open, so it obeyed magic rules. When she saw Skurge had betrayed her, she undid the enchantment.

His Doom like moment in this scene is even neater because he played in the live action Doom film some time back. It wasn’t a great film but Karl Urban did well as usual.

This is probably the most realistic representation of bullet damage in the entire MCU. They actually have weight and force behind them, unlike the Hydra tickle rays or Ultrons mildly inconvenient repulsor rays…
