Year: 639 B.C.
Event: Hela Challenges the Throne

By the time Odin decides to stop his conquest after realizing peace is the true way to unite the Nine Realms, Hela's ambition has grown too large, and coupled with her tremendous powers, she ultimately tries to take the throne and Odin is forced to battle and imprison his daughter in the realm of Hel after defeating her, for the safety of the Asgardians. There she was kept for nearly 2700 years, until her escape in 2017. Odin would spend the next several centuries burying her history and pretending she never existed. When his next child, Thor, was born over 1600 years later, he claimed him to be his actual firstborn.

Imagine if they broke through the second ceiling artwork, and there was a third artwork hidden behind it lol

In the mythology and original Marvel Comics Hela is actually the daughter of Loki.

So two powerful beings with their daughters and their conquests:

1. Odin and Hela
2. Thanos and Gamora

She’s got a point, you know. Odin raised her into a weapon and when she defied him he just hid her away in shame and replaced her.

My theory is Odin had conquered the realms in search of the infinity stones with Hela. Upon reaching the Soul Stone, and realizing the sacrifice he needed to make he quit his conquests. Hela did not understand this which led to them fighting.

This really shows how strong Odin was in the past if he was able to hold Hela to banish her. Also have to remember that this current Hela isn't even in her full power because the longer she is in Asgard the stronger she gets. This is why Thanos waited for the destruction of Asgard to happen or when Hela/Odin is gone.

I honestly wish that this film was dark and Shakespearean like the first two. I think it would have made this film all the better. I also would have loved to dive deeper into the back story of Hela and Odin. I love Thor: Ragnarok, but I just wish there was more Hela.

Hela didn't brake the fourth wall, she broke the fourth ceiling.

At least Odin knew when to stop and think "It's enough the rest I'll solve it peacefully"

0:20, Oh I see, this is true history of Asgard.

One mistake Hela already was a Animal. When Odin realized it. It was too late.

0:30 I swear, she sounded just like Galadriel with this line.

I just never bought the "we conquered everything and everyone just forgot about it" approach. I mean, they remember the Dark Elves, but no one remembers the banished heir? The Valkyries? Ceaseless war?

Not very relevant but 0:24 shows that Loki did not, in fact, give birth to Sleipnir

There needs to be a series about this on Disney+

I love that "What if" episode in which she got her happy ending. This version of her story is just so sad.

In a sense this scene could also be used as a representation of the world we live in. We’re all so proud of what we have that we refuse to even acknowledge the atrocities that took place in getting them. The constant “conquests” in the exploration era. The atrocious acts done to other human beings by human beings Just kind of an interesting theory or idea, I’m sure people will turn this political when it’s not. Just simple history, but Take it with what you will.
