I drive by her Every day, and it's odd how attached we residents here are to her. Yes, she may have been built as a weapon of war, but the feelings that ship evokes in us here today are awe and pride (and posessiveness. She's OUR ship!) she serves as a constant reminder of the greatest generation, our Fathers and Grandfathers and Uncles who served during the war, and of the ingenuity, strength and cooperation of the American people in those days. She protected our boys, and never lost a single crewman in combat. Every time I see a video or news item about her, I get a little choked up again. That's our Big Mamie!

My Dad served on USS Massachusetts. He maned one of the front 16inch. He passed away almost 10 years ago at 89 years old.

She shares the harbor with other museum ships,  USS Lionfish ;a Submarine, USS Kennedy; a destroyer and a German missile corvette plus two PT boats displayed indoors. A great museum to visit.

My late father, Charles W. Illingworth, served on the USS Massachusetts. He loved his ship and his country. My dream is to visit the ship someday. God bless and thank you to all servicemen and women - past and present - for their service to our country.

Wargaming should really branch into making documentaries. No one else is going to produce decent quality stuff. . .

I mean, look at History Channel. . . . . .

Growing up, I spent a lot of time on this ship.

My dad was the photographer that did the postcards and advertising for Battleship Cove, so I got to go all sorts of off-limits places with him to get photos. An awesome ship.

Camped on her as a boyscout many times as a kid and recently was back to help chip paint and paint the ship. Love this ship and proud to have her in my state. I cant wait until we get a version of the Alabama skinned like the Massachusetts to use in game.

I have been lucky enough to actually be on the uss Massachusetts, I have even slept on it thanks to a trip from my Boy Scout troop, it was quite amazing to see such a grand ship, filled with history, right below my feet and to be standing on the ship named for my state was quite patriotic, love you big mamey, I hope to visit again soon

Growing up in Boston, I had the pleasure of touring her before. Carriers may be the kings of the sea now, but when I stood in the shadow of 'Big Mamie' and her nine 16-inch rifles, it was a visceral feeling of power and intimidation that only the old battlewagons could give off. Really hope she is put into the game as a premium at some point, maybe alongside the Jean Bart.

I was on the ship this march. I was vacationing outside of Canada for the first time and chose Boston as where I would travel.

Made a vlog about it.

One thing not mentioned in this documentary is the fact that not a single sailor who served aboard her was killed in combat. I learned this from a docent during a guided tour. Battleship Cove is a great place to visit. There is not only the battleship but also a destroyer, a submarine and a PT boat.

One of my favorite memories is camping there as a young scout with my father and grandfather, a WW2 and Korean War navy vet that served on the USS Iowa. He told stories that had everyone captivated. Long live big mamie!

When she came to Fall River, "I" was there, with my Dad, a boy of 11 in 1965 . . . when she arrived, she COULDN'T fit "Under" the bridge, so they waited for the tide to go "Out", but she STILL wouldn't fit . . . so they ended up cutting one of her radar masts off, an reattached it later . . . through the years I visited her "Countless" times, due to having many friends who actually WORKED on her. I "Know" the ship, VERY WELL !. . . been in a "Lot" of her unopened spaces.

It is my first time to play this game, and I didn’t realize they have these videos. I’ve learnt so much more about warships by watching these videos than taking history classes.
