I just open the valves between the skimmer and the sand filter and crack the lid loose on the pump. The pool fills the pump and forces air out the loose lid. When all the air is out, tighten the lid and turn on the pump.

What setting do you have the filter on when you are priming the pump? Recirculate?

Do u need to close the valves for the incoming skimmer/main drain first and then poor water in the pump, close lid, turn it on, then finally turn the valve back open to the skimmer/main drain?

Hello i just got new pool pump and i have connected all pipers and checked very pipe is tightened but still suction from the new pump doesnt continue the flow of the water . I will fill it up snd it runs for few seconds and water goes down its nog contiunes. Can you help me with this

I have air bubbles. I started it without priming it. I have zero suction. I then tried to prime it.
When I turn it on, it drains half the water each time. No pressure coming in or out of the lines.
How do I fix this?

First off. Centrifugal pumps don’t have suction. They create an area of lower than atmospheric pressure.

We just tried to turn ours on but had issue of water not coming through. Will try your way tomorrow. But also maybe part of issue ise don't have water up to the skimmer part yet iether.

I hope I get responses I’m trying to fix the rubber in that lit in my pump but I can’t keep it open for so long because lots of coming out.Is there any way to stop the water and fixt the rubber in the lid in my pump?TIA.

thanks for the video, i realised i dont have a skimmer and my pump is located above the pool level. it is an old type in ground spa tube. is it possible to prime? thanks

if I didn't fill with water would this cause my pvc to leak in multiple areas... also I have and old hayward and it has the little side screws... it doesn't seem like it wants to get tight... I have fixed this 2 times... and its still leaking...
