Always confused by a "game" not being the thing you're playing, but part of a match

I learned almost every rule of Tennis, when i watched it for the first time during the 2012 Olymic semifinals between Federer beat Juan Del Potro, in that 4 hour+ match.

I played tennis in highschool, and whenever I saw my coaches trying to explain the scoring to the freshmen who didn't understand, they would always say, "Just play wii tennis. You won't learn anything valuable from wii tennis EXCEPT for how the scoring works."

don’t even get him started on deuce or tie breakers. i’ve been playing high school tennis for three years and they don’t even attempt to explain tiebreakers to us because of how confusing they are, our coaches will stand at the fence and count for us! 😂

Fun etymology fact :) : tennis actually comes from the anglicized version of the French command “tenez!” which translates to “take!” or “here you go!” in English (said when serving the ball to the opponent).
