Large Oil Rig Guide | Rust Tutorial

After completing the small oil rig it's now time to take your chances at the large oil rig. The large oil rig will offer 6 levels with each floor containing multiple scientists and loot containers with no radiation. Within the red key card puzzle room, you can find a locked crate which will spawn a chinook and 11 heavy scientists when hacked. When looted the locked crate will provide some of the best loot in the game.

You can use the room under the stairs with the research bench and two windows, try and shoot the heavies legs to keep them up stairs and close the door when they inevitably push down. Then just check through the 2 windows to who you can open the door and and shoot in the head. Easy enough as a solo

You can also crouch jump onto the platform above the red card room. It's the safest spot to take heavy scientists.

Best spot hands down to take heavy scientist is above red card room. It takes a bit of parkour either from the box to the door to the vent then onto the railing (crouch jumping the railing allows you to hold on to the railing then you can jump over, its a hard jump to learn but once you have it down its easy). The reason this is the best spot is the scientist will all stack up on the level right below the pad and you can mow them all down in a line and simply hide behind the vents when you need to re-load / heal. As a solo I can clear heavies in roughly 20-30 seconds with this method taking almost no damage.

Thanks for the help I teamed up with a random and he helped me do large oil rig for the first time, I never attempted small oil before large I just went straight to large oil and I did it three times, 2 were unsuccessful and one was good but had pretty bad loot

i still haven't finished oil rig fully. I've failed several times. I just got melted by the second to last heavy scientist on large oil rig and decided to come here.
