We have very different opinions on these, but I'm glad you've discovered them all. <3 Love the matching cover--set, too!

I love Jane Austen too. I’m recording my version of this tomorrow so I won’t tell you my ranking other than the fact that our least favourite is the same. You have described the books so well 😊🥰

I'm a big Jane Austen fan and can't really remember not being an Austen fan. Our rankings are almost opposite though, haha. I've read them all several times and it changes from time to time, but not a whole lot. Here's my ranking from first to last.
1) Northanger Abbey
2) Pride and Prejudice
3) Mansfield Park
4) Sense and Sensibility
5) Emma
6) Persuasion

The last three change around a lot though. I do love all six books, but the top three are very special to me. Fanny Price is my favorite of all Austen's heroines. She has a quiet strength that I love and knows her own mind. And although she is shy and timid, she stands up for what she believes to be right.

I don't think that I would consider any of the novels to be romances myself. They all have a romance aspect, certainly, but I don't think that is the focus of any of them. Wigh Pride and Prejudice I see it as more a study in character development as both Elizabeth and Darcy undergo great changes. Their romance is secondary to that I think, though it does play a role in that development.

Anyway, fun to see your rankings. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

As you know I really am an Austen fan and have read all six books a few times. I enjoyed your fresh view of the novels. Northanger Abbey is probably the only one that has never been my favourite.

I agree that the carriage scene with Mr Elton and Emma is one of the funniest in Jane Austen. So good!

I love watching ranking Austen books although our rankings are quite different. I like hearing different opinions about fellow Austen lovers 😊

I had plenty of Jane Austen's literature in my college and university syllabus. I never read her novels. I never read any work by a female author. For those in the syllabus, I just followed some notes which my friend prepared. Why? I disliked women because girls used to completely ignore me during my younger years. I would see the other boys talking and laughing with the girls which made me jealous. So, I started hating women. I never read any female writer. I would be 32 in October. Now being older and wiser, I regret my stupidity and my idiotic decisions. I have decided to start reading literature again and read all those books which my immaturity deprived me of reading.
