Hello, hello!
As I mentioned sim my last blog, I’ve been pretty for the last couple of months and will continue to be busy in the next couple of months as well. So videos might be sparse on my channel. I’m giving a disclaimer here because I think you all need to know.
I am so excited for Jane Austen July even though I won’t be able to participate in it fully this year. There is a project I worked with for Jane Austen July which will be going love on 1 July 2021! 👀 Im super excited for you guys to watch it. I’ll link it when it’s uploaded. But to go out Jane Austen July, I decided to film this fun video. Ive now read all of Jane Austen’s major novels and I’ve always wanted to film a ranking of all her books. And now I finally can! So here goes…
Hope you all enjoy this!
Cheers!

Finally someone who agree with me on Persuasion ! I always found the love story beautiful and deep.

I sometimes joke that my favourite Jane Austen is the one I reread most recently. But I usually revert to saying Persuasion, whilst Northanger Abbey and Sense & Sensibility never really get that top spot. Mansfield Park was my least favourite when I was a teenager but is right up there now. I enjoyed your explanation for your ranking anyway.

I have never read Jane Austen and just a couple weeks ago I randomly picked up a used copy of Persuasion because I loved the artwork on the cover and because I want to try Jane Austen out. It was so cool to see Persuasion listed at your favorite!

Persuasion is my favorite, too! I'm so excited for the adaptations coming out. I hope we get at least one on the level of the 2005 P&P in its rewatchability.

I've read some retellings of Persuasion that I've quite enjoyed - Recipe for Persuasion by Sonali Dev and For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund. Alexa Donne's The Stars We Steal was just okay. I have By the Book and Where the Rhythm Takes You on by TBR for retellings as well.

Mansfield Park is the only Austen novel I could not finish honestly, I found it so dull. I might come back to it in a decade or so. Emma is the one that surprised me on re-reading. The dialogue is very modern and relatable. I feel like I could leave my house and bump into a character from Emma.

Yap I slept when I read sense and sensibility... Totally agree with u that the character is such a ridiculous.

I too ranked Persuasion as my number 1 favorite. I did not know two new films adaptations are coming out!

I like your thoughts on Persuasion. I'm also curious what the adaptations will be like.
It's interesting to see that of all the people who love Jane Austen, almost everybody ranks her books differently ;) For me, Emma comes first, then Northanger Abbey and P&P, next Persuasion, S&S and finally Mansfield Park. But still, I love even Mansfield Park, it's just that I love it slightly less than the others 😆

I love this video Reesha! It's just in time for Jane Austen July. I agree with Sense and Sensibility, but I wish Emma was higher on this list. It's one of my favorites. You have many valid points about it of course. I love Henry Tilney! He is one of the most underrated Austen heroes. I can't wait to reread Persuasion this year, and I look forward to all the persuasion adaptations. I wonder why everyone is suddenly scrambling to make Persuasion adaptations (not that I'm complaining!)

This was fun! S&S and Emma are the novels I reread the least. Northanger Abbey will always have a place in my heart because it’s about the love of books. It took me years to appreciate MP, but I love it now. P&P I love but Persuasion is my #1. It’s her only self made man, and who doesn’t love a sailor? Her sister Mary is hilarious and the marriage of the Crofts is lovely. The letter…I had tears in my eyes when you talked about it! Deb

I always love a good Jane Austen ranking video! Persuasion is my favourite as well. I can’t wait for the new adaptations - do you know I wasn’t sure about the casting choices either until I saw them in costume - now I like them! Am more worried about the ‘fresh and modern’ part but hopefully it’s 2020 Emma fresh and modern and not Bridgeton (which I don’t think would suit the mood of the book)

The fact that I read Sense and Sensibility this January and sworeee it would be high since I really liked it. (I’ve only read 2 Austens though, so I’m soo excited to read the rest now)

It’s awful to rank but here’s my ranking. Love your ranking btw.
1. Mansfield Park
2. Emma
3. Persuasion
4. Pride and Prejudice
5. Northanger Abbey
6. Sense and Sensibility
I enjoy all of the books except S&S, and that is actually amazing.

Emma I think was a satire/spoof of her novels

I am laughing, my favorite Austen is Sense and Sensibility, and all of her other books are a close second.

Hi!! I have only read Persuasion, Northanger Abby, Pride & Prejudice & ready ready to read Mansfield Park for Jane Austen July. 💗 🥳 I love all 3 & can't decide which of the 3 I love best but Persuasion might be my favorite so far for similiar reasons as yours. It evokes such emotions & the love they have for each other is true. 💗 Oh my goodness. 😁
I loved this video. Thanks for sharing!

Really took me by surprise Reesha as I was sure Pride and Prejudice would be your number one Austen favourite. :P I recently got the entire set from Liberty Books sans Pride and Prejudice as read that ages ago (I think when we were in Jinnah) so I am really excited to read the books as soon as my exam is over. Really want to have a Jane Austen marathon starting with the movie Becoming Jane, watching all the adaptations in between and ending on Austenland and The Jane Austen Book Club with reading the books side by side. Let's keep our fingers crossed that I find the time to do this!

Such a fun video! I've only read Emma by Jane Austen so far and wasn't very fond of it either, but I'm looking forward to reading her other novels. I have high hopes for them especially for Pride and Prejudice and Persuasion as these 2 seem to be many people's favorites.
