Tretinoin is typically safe when used as advised by a physician. However, there are potential side effects:

Birth Risks: Oral tretinoin may lead to birth defects. Due to potential absorption, pregnant women or those trying to conceive should refrain from using topical tretinoin.

Skin Color Changes: Tretinoin might alter skin pigmentation, either lightening or darkening it. This effect is more common in individuals with darker skin.

Other Rare Side Effects: Some users have reported systemic effects like headaches, nausea, dizziness, and muscle pain from topical tretinoin. These are infrequent but should be reported to a doctor if experienced.

I have only just started using tretinoin from dermatica, I was using the ordinary granactive retinoid 5 % in squalene for over a year now. I’m 55 and my formula is for aging. I value your opinion Melissa

But retinol 1% is totally safe right, as long as my skin is doing well on it? No systemic side effects from retinol, is that correct?

I got red blisters😢I stopped applying it. Should I reduce the frequency ( like 2 or 3 times a week) and try again?
