People always said they never knew we had cats. We always kept the litter box in the basement and my mom vacuumed daily. Once I moved out, I realized how true it was. My mom's house doesn't smell like cats at all. But you have to clean the litter box daily, or even twice daily. People are way too lazy about litter box cleaning.

Vacuuming everyday is important but cats hairs doesn't have a lot of smell. Same brushing cats is good bc they will swallow less fur.
But in smell reduction is very important to have CLEAN litter box.
A lot of people neglect that thing but you should clean your litter box regularly!!
Like im doing it once a month and it's good.
We toss the rest of litter out and spray litter box with detergent (i use stuff for bathroom cleaning) a lot lot water and wipe out to clean and refill.
No need for fancy and often dangerous robots, more hygienic.
You can have litter box in living room and nobody will notice as long as you scoop two times a day, have good amounts boxes per cat and clean the box from time to time.

Also airing out the house daily ! I have 3 large dogs and I always get compliments how fresh my house smells and it’s constantly cleaning and airing the house out daily and in the warmer months I basically leave windows open always !!! It’s good for all of us

I just cleaned the litter box every single time the cats use it. Or when I get home from work I just cleaned it immediately and I don't mean emptying the whole thing I mean just scooping out the waste. I had about 25 cats at one time, and still my house did not smell. Also getting especially male cats neutered before their first heat really really really really really really helps with them not spraying that really stinky urine

i have 3 cats and i clean obsessively. no matter what it still smells like litter box. not strong but its always there.. we have 3 litter boxes. most people say they smell nothing too. but I smell it.. the wipes are a must cause they really dont self clean as much as we are told that they do. 😂. and I also use the furminator brush. before the regular brush all year. the vacuum is a permanent piece of furniture because i use it so much it never gets put away. had to get a king size bed too they just take all the room.. they really bring so much emotional support pleasure joy and love to our lives. we dont have kids we have fur babies..

I do like the idea of the litter robot but I hear to many horror stories of cats dying in them

i have a reusable lint roller AND an adhesive lint roller. the adhesive is still the best one for picking up stray hairs.

As a groomer, the furminator brush I stand by!! Works for short and medium hair length dogs too 🥰 great job mama

Caution: Deshedders are not normal brushes. If you use it every day your pet will quickly become bald.

There's cat litter designed for "multiple cats", those are the best imo. I have 6 cats and what helped me with the smell was using one of those, but most importantly having a DEEP and large litter box. I use those large plastic organizing boxes with at least 15 inches high.
But you have to put A LOT of litter, like fill it halfway, this way the cat can dig and properly hide the peepeepoopoo.
Other litter alternative is mixing cornflour/cassava flour with the litter, that'll dry and clump everything and it won't smell.

To remove fur from fabric furniture you can just use one of those big rubber gloves for cleaning, the ones that have stubs/texture on them. Put them on and swipe your couch, you'll be surprised 😉

It isn’t the litter box that stinks. If they are taking an active dump and within an hour of one, yeah, the stink is strong. It’s their food! Cat and dog food is VERY pungent, and often overlooked as a source of smell.

I don't have cats ( dog/rabbit) although I love them and I adore the Dodo. These are great tips too but I was focusing on how beautiful all of your cats are😊🥰💖.

You can vacuum every 15 minutes, heck, every 5 minutes, but if you have cats, there is going to be cat fur in your house. You can never get rid of all of it.

i have two kitties in my on bedroom apartment and i my Roomba vacuum… i’ve never had anyone complain about a smell and the real tip is scooping the3 litter boxes 1-2x a day. legitimately. if your house smells like cat it’s because you’re not scooping of your cat is incontinent

I love honest vids like this. Bc the answer is "you gitta work for it"n and there are products that make that work slightly easier". Its never a magical fix

I hv 2 house cats. N some strays who hang around. My mom is a neat freak, so since I was a kid I use to clean litter twice a day. Clean food bowls regularly. Wash cats beds regularly. Stinky cat-owner house happens cuz some owners r lazy.

The key is cleaning up all messes and accidents quickly and thoroughly!

Newspaper pellet litter works surprisingly well.
And you can compost it.

We use fresh step unscented litter and scoop everyday, no smell at all. Hooded litter boxes are a must. Everyone actually comments that you can’t tell we have cats. We also use an air purifier next to the litter boxes. There are cheaper alternatives ❤
