I have the R6. And i love it. I bought it to do wildlife photography but with everything going on, i haven’t been able to travel much. So I’ve been using it for street photography and some other things and I’m astonished at how great it is! It pairs so well with my 5D Mark IV. But i love the R6 so much that I’m considering the R5 to pair with it and using the 5D as a back up to my back up lol

I went from a Canon powershot sx530 hs (love taking pictures of birds at my feeders) to the Canon R6. I love the ergonomics and it's been a ton of fun to make the leap into the mirrorless world!

I won’t be switching to Canon since a change would be out of my budget, but, I would choose the R6 as the best for me if I could.

I am one of those who traded in the R6 for the R5. There was nothing wrong with the R6 and I absolutely loved it! Like you said just because it is 20mp the image quality is better than the Canon m50 even though it is 24mp. Low light performance is absolutely amazing. I traded in for the R5 because I do need the 45mp but because of the lockdown I haven't been able to fully test the camera, but what little I have done so far is amazing.

My last Canon full frame camera was the 1V h film camera; my next one that I have on order is the R5! Finally the monster hybrid that I have been waiting for since my 7D days!😁🙏🏾

I have the RP for quite a while, as my favorite city walkabout photography camera with a decent low light capability. It came with the RF 24-105/f4 and I use still some of the EF lenses with it, such as the 70-300 IS Mk II with the adapter. Great experience, just like said here: If you look for low weight and small size, it is quite a well made body. Its "miss" is lack of joystick for focus point selection and truly pitifully under-sized battery, overpriced to boot. These days I use the RP as my webcam every day. With the newer cameras from Canon I would have taken R6 of course, but if the price is an issue, the RP sells at a bargain level now 2021. (Canon was my 2nd system, I also use Nikon for over 40 years)

Thank you for the comparison ! I recently moved from the 5D3 to the R5 and definitely see it as a huge upgrade. The R5 is quite simply better in every respect. Initially I was concerned about moving from an optical viewfinder to EVF but the quality of the EVF in the R5 as well as the multitude of information you can view while shooting has been a great add. I really appreciate the electronic level which helps me get the image correctly in camera. The feature that I really love is being able to transfer images to my phone for editing. I also love being able to switch from single shot to continuous eye tracking with the press of a button. My 70-200L II works perfectly on the R5. I look forward to purchasing the RF 28-70 f/2 which looks to be exceptional like the EF 135 f/2.

I don't see the R6 as a "bargain" - here in Australia it goes for $4500 and that is a lot of money for a 20Mp camera with serious overheating issues. The R5 is roughly $6000 which is $800 more than the Sony A7r iv. I've been a Canon shooter for a long time and have a lot of L lenses but I just can't see myself using any of their mirrorless line up as things stand at the moment.

I got an R5 a few months back, love it, it was my first mirrorless but when I go back to my 6D or the 7DMKII I sure miss that see what you shoot feature. Now for a R7 to cover the wildlife type of shots.

The R5 is a great camera. Where I live it cost equal to 6300 US$. CFxpress cards are very expensive too, and I don't need them.
R6 is good, still since I crop a lot sometimes 20 mp is not enough, so Sony a7Riii is much better for me. Same price as a R6.

Still shooting with a Canon 1DX (The original 1DX!) and love it! But if I were to go mirrorless it would be the R6 simply because it uses dual sd cards, I hate two different card types in a camera. I heard there's a R7 in the works which supposedly is to replace the 7D series, which if true would be my choice then over the R6.

Great job! But you forgot the Ra! I was the first person to buy an Ra from you guys when it first came out, after reviewing a pre-release unit sent by Canon USA. I love it for astrophotography, both nightscapes and deep sky. I’m looking at getting an R6 if it performs well for low light, high ISO 4K video, for aurora footage. But it would have to match the low-light video performance of the Sony a7III I bought from you folks before I’d sell the Sony and go just Canon again. I still haven’t seen any good tests of the R6 for low light video work. Night shots of brightly lit city streets aren’t a test. I want to see stars and the Milky Way!

Great video. I have a D500 for sports, a D750 for portraits and events, and an Olympus M1 Mark II for video. I would like to mush those three cameras into one. I am really on the fence between the Z6 II and the R6. Your showing how the R6 handles the autofocus of that mountain bike rider was great. I do not "need" the power of 1Dx Mark II or D5 level sports performance, and I do not "need" the best mirrorless camera, so I am wondering where the Z6 II fits in. I do believe that the R6 will be better for sports and video. But is the Z6 II good enough?

The R6 is one beast of a camera, very competitive low light noise performance.
That said, the Nikon Z5 is way cheaper and almost as good.
Traditionally one of my biggest complaints about Nikon was the F mount (insanely confusing lens support), with Nikon Z they've fixed that. As long as Nikon is still around in 10 years I'd put Nikon as finally being on fully equal footing with Canon now.

Rumor has it we're getting a 90MP version of the R5 along with an R7 this year.
I'd love to have both of those (pixel density all the way).

Are full frame Canon DSLR lenses compatible with full frame Canon mirrorless cameras?
