How to Set Up Wireless Speaker Sound using Shure QLXD

I've made a previous video explaining how I use the Sennheiser G3 to have wireless speaker sound. In this video, I share with you a new way using the SHURE QLXD by demonstrating it on my Bose S1 speaker and my Bose T8S mixer.

Thanks to my DJ friend, Jas from JAS Productions, for sharing this with me!

In this video, I share with you the way how I provide wireless sound at my events today. I found this to be the most reliable and with zero dropouts.

ALL GEAR LINKS:

POSITIVES:
I love how easy it is to find the best channel and group.
Signal reliability and distance are impressive.
Great battery indicator showing 5 bars of battery life so when it drops down, you feel more comfortable that there's still plenty of power left. Compared to 3 bars displaying in other systems.
If you're already using Shure QLXD for your microphones, it's easy to use it for wireless sound, as well.
Battery life of the transmitter lasts a long time! Using Rechargeable AA Duracell batteries
System can be used for transmitting wireless sound or as a wireless microphone.

NEGATIVES:
You would also need to buy the Shure WA302 cable to connect the transmitter to your mixer.
If you want to use the system interchangeably, you would need to make sure all your receivers and transmitters are using the same band.
Price, it's pretty expensive.

CONCLUSION:
I already own this system for my wireless microphones, so it's been a good transition to trying this out. If you have the money for it, definitely give it a try. It serves two purposes of being a wireless mic system and a wireless speaker sound system.

Very well said. I too have just started to incorporate a similar solution to those gigs that require a fill speaker without cables. Thanks again.

Nice, but ever think about doing the opposite, like using a small IEM receiver so you wont have such a bulky receiver on your speakers and the transmitter can be rack mounted by your gear?

what's the cable that you use to connect the talent cell battery pack to the QLXD Receiver?

Yeah, its working. But, my concern is that the transmitter is made for mic level inputs and not for strong line level inputs. Hope, it doesn't damage the transmitter in long run.

How is this comparing or is there a reason you stop using the G3?

Nice video, I got a question how many receivers can you connect to (1) transmitter?
And can I came out of a wire speaker output? And have you try or see the sennheiser wireless system from agiprodj.
Thanks.

Just bought the Bose t8s and the Sennheiser ew100 g3 wireless system...
I know you used to use that system...how does it compare to this setup.

I love this Idea but I wonder if you could use the FIFine lavaliere microphones instead and make set even easier and quicker?

I have Shure Slx4 receiver with body pack and beta 87. I have karaoke system in the living room with mixer, amplifier, speakers and so on. I also have Bose S1 pro in the dinning room. I’m trying to use this Slx wireless system so that I can sing in either room and the sound comes out the same in both rooms. How would I do it? Can I connect slx4 receiver to mixer or amplifier in the living room and connect body pack to S1 pro? I sing via Bluetooth though. Thanks very much for your help.

Terrific videoI--! f you buy the QLXD with the bodypack combo, the 1/4 to TA4F cable (Shure WA305 ) comes with the system, so no need to purchase separately. If you want to use XLR, that is a separate purchase from Shure.

Great video! Thanks.
In this video, which mic (system and laverier mic) did you use? Shure QLXD and wl-185?

Outstanding video. Great quality and great points. Would you have any recommendations for more of budget friendly DJs on the Mixer outside of Bose (are they compatible with the T1 Tonematch or T4S?) and the Wireless Transmitter & Receiver Keep up the amazing work.
