This is still relevant as it helped me to correct the issue I was experiencing after moving from a wired connection to wifi and my wifi card wasn't picking up any networks. IN 2024! I've never actually gone into that window to change anything so how is it possible that it was changed to Manual instead of automatic? Thank you for the advice. Forever greatful.

Nowhere does this mention that this is an 'Ad Hoc enabled' service, which doesn't work with mobiles, unless you have it rooted and changed. Not unless someone as been able to find a bypass...
