Insure push in and lever connectors are a great time saver for electrical installation. Gary Hayers takes a closer look at the Insure range from Ideal industries. Included is a demonstration of the range in lighting applications wiring the connectors within the In-sure box and terminating conductors in a light switch.

Includes a discussion about derating connectors when used in maintenance-free junction box applications (MF junction box).

I have used Ideal products for a few years and they seem to be getting much more popular, in my view ideal push ins have always been a superior product to the Wago, 32 amp, easier to use and much better value in terms of price (if I remember rightly about £10 for 100).
The spliceline in-line (Copper coloured one) is also a great and unique product, especially when you need to extend a short cable, again 32amp.
Great video guys, love the look of those cable strippers!

Used the orange in line connectors before and they are great especially as they allow cable to stay in line unlike most wagos 👍🏻

Used a splice to extend a few CPC’s that had been cut short when replacing a few light switch with metal faceplates. Saved chasing the wall or moving the box higher.

I’ve never used anything other than the wagos. I do like the look of the splice connections. Also the screw holes look a lot better then the wago box which can be fiddly

I would also like to say thank you to ideal industries for the go-through wire stripper. I think this is going to be more popular when people switch from the C.K. Tools automatic wire stripper and other variants

I've only really used wagos but I would be interested to try these in the future 👍. Great demo speedy Gaz .

Always thought the ideal connectors were just fake wagos but they actually look pretty good. Like the fact the box has entry holes top and bottom! Those wire strippers 😍😍

I never have and never will use 1mm T&E.
Still don't understand the maintenance free side of things when all you need is a screwdriver, pliers, Stanley knife (which everyone seems afraid of and is cheaper then an electricians knife which looks lethal and will get blunt easily n will get chucked where as a Stanley just need to turn around or swop the blade over) or side cutter's.

Is there any reason why nobody uses a Stanley knife anymore as I'd love to know?
It's madness that some sites won't allow you to use one incase you "cut yourself" 🤦🏻‍♂️ FFS personally I think an electricians knife is FAR more lethal if you ask me because there's more if it. But if you want something to cut you clean open, metal studding is brilliant for that. I bet there not banning that on sides are they?

For the past 10+ years, health and safety has gone stupid with the people making the rule's and writing the book's. Who have never done that job in there life!
I know when I need to wear PPE, because I have common sense. You learn common sense due to doing manual labor over many years. If you think something might get in your eye, then wear safety glasses. If there's a guard on a tool, then use it. If your standing in a field, carpark, working on a roof or indoors walking round, then you don't need to wear a hardhat!! If you think you might hit your head on something, then put it on. Only use gloves if you need to or want to.

Great video guys, interested to know why the box is derated even though the connectors are higher rated.

I was always told as an apprentice that you don’t take neutrals to light switches. How things have changed. 😀

You will never get better than a good old fashioned sollder joint /look at all the old lead service cables still working and nearly 80 years old

I buy these from Screwfix .Much better value than "Wago's" . I also have fallen in love with using "Ferrules" to make better connections on things

Could you leave me a link to that cable stripper you used in the video? Looks rather satisfying to use and I have been thinking on getting one for the future

Been using ideal for years, prefer them to the standard wago but What boxes do they offer for connecting through ring finals or a cooker circuit if them boxes are only rated at 16A ?

It's good to see other connections other than Wagos. While they are amazing I think they take too much of the limelight when there are other connectors and junction boxes out there that are just as good if not better.

Can you remove cables out of push fit connectors...? Great video :)
