Lord, I am not worthy that you enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.

I love how he takes his time getting food and toys after, before going home, because he knows his son is better and wants to have a celebration for it

I've always been impressed by how much this Roman soldier loved his servant.

Something that I noticed: when Gaius first kneels, he kneels as a Roman soldier would. It is almost formal in its posture, but not submissive or subservient. When he makes his plea to Jesus, he kneels as a believer would who is asking Christ for help...on both knees, head bowed and voice humble.

The faith of that Roman centurion is the faith that we all Christians should have! The soldier believed in Jesus Christ so blindly that he knew that Jesus has the power to cure his son from the distance!!! Praise the Lord and all glory to God!!!!

Like modern day pharisees, some people complain and nitpick about The Chosen, complaining that it's not 150% accurate in all ways. They entirely miss the point. The Chosen has caused millions of people to get interested in Jesus again and open their Bibles. It's an awesome series that has invigored people's interest in the Lord and work to be saved. It's probably the most important show to ever come out.

This life is just a drop in an eternal ocean

Such a good idea to build Gaius' character for four seasons before this happens.

Everyone talks about how well Jonathan Roumie plays his role, and for good reason, he does a banger of a job, but I feel every other character fills their roles perfectly. I feel that Kirk B.R. Woller who plays Gaius is not given enough credit. He is amazing.

Gaius kneeling before Him and being the first in the series to call Him as Lord is so poetic. In confession to Him, Gaius was forgiven.

Of all the beautiful stories in the Bible, this story and the story of the woman with the bleeding are my favorites. This shows the power of pure faith.

Just occurred to me watching this that a portion of what Giaus says is part of the Catholic Mass. Just after the host is consecrated and just before it is distributed, the whole congregation says “Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, only say the word and my soul shall be healed”

Seeing him now before him and call him Lord made me so emotional. “every knee shall bow and every tongue confess” comes to mind ❤

My favorite scene in the show so far. The way Jonathon portrays Jesus’ astonishment, his facial expression at 1:45 is impeccable. As if he’s saying “are you guys hearing this?”

This is BY FAR one of my favorite passages in the gospels. I have shivers running down my spine right now.

This is professed every single day in Holy Mass; around the entire world.
