I agree, three months in I still really happy with the Air 2S. And most of the time I can live without the variable aperture. And until you mentioned it in this video, I forgot how much better the gimbal was on Air 2S, over the first Air 2. You get a lot of drone for $999. Great video, I love these long term reviews.

I upgraded to the Air2S from a Mavic Air 1st Gen. MASSIVE step forward in absolutely every way! Just glad to see it's been holding up

Ken, you have just reinforced my opinion of the Air 2S. The Air 2 was my introduction to drone photography, and the improvement with the Air 2S camera was a no brainer. It has proven to me to be just that. I still have my Air 2, but it has been gathering dust since I bought my A2S 3 months ago. Most importantly, if and when a Mavic 3 appears it will be hard pressed to deliver the value we find in the Air 2S.

Thank you! Really nice honest review. I've had a similar problem with Ocusync on my Mini 2. It comes and goes and initiates a RTH, which I can override once it get's back in sync. The first couple of times it really freaked me out and gave a lack of confidence to fly a long distance away. Looking forward to getting an Air 2S.

Thanx for that review. I really wanted to hear about your experience after a while of use. I just crashed my M2P and was thinking to switch to the A2S, eventually didn't, because it was cheaper to fix (still $600) and because I have all the gear already, and... I still think that the variable aperture is a big difference. Can't see myself changing ND filters all the time. A huge PITA . But I was really tempted with the A2S because of the sharper image quality, no barrel effect, HDR video, Occusync 3.0, and, of course, the smaller size of it. I might still replace it though, although, now the Mavic 3 is just around the corner, and I'll stay tuned to see your review of that! Thanx again. I thought I was subscribed, but I wasn't so subscribed now.

Regarding your last subject-“issues”
I have been using my 2S for about 3 months now and have been flying quite a lot, but never had the same problems as you. It might be a software issue or signal interference.

What I do experience quite often on my side is, signal loss. But then I am still flying it in town with plenty of cellphone towers. Il am going to the country side soon to test it there. But I would have thought that O3 was almost “un breakable”. I was wrong.

Great drone though.

the lag of image transmission and control might be caused by the overheating of your cellphone. I found this same issue with my air2s but easily solved by taking off the cellphone case before installing it onto the RC.
