They used to sell this delicious bright red block of the best smoked fish you ever ate in delis up and down the West Coast. The East Coast had something similar (but not the same) called Sable. But out west, you can't get this stuff anymore, and I missed it. So I made my own. Here's how, part 1.

I really think the Red Coloring comes from the use of smoked Paprika which is as good or better than food coloring because its got nutritional value, texture, and great color!!!

Hi.  I am on the same eternal quest for BBQ cod!  I have done the same research, and LASCCO is no longer making it. Thank you so much for making this video - I am going to give it a try right now (I bought the cod today).
