Awesome! I chose to enlist and I was glad I did. Crohn's Disease began to claim me my first year in Germany and was in its full throws by the time I left. I would have been medically discharged and could not have pursued my bachelor's. But as a private soldier, I grinned and bared it, completed my three years with a little glory and rank on my jacket, left with an Honorable Discharge, not a Medical Discharge, filed for benefits and went to college. That said, West Point grads and prior service OCS/ROTC grads, in my short time, were the most prepared for the platoons and the demands of leadership. Go Army!!! Go, West Point!
