Excellent, Dennis! When we don't get our own way and become "disappointed, " this presupposes that I know what is best, and God doesn't! I have learned over several decades that just the opposite is true. I heard a phrase many years ago: "God gives His best to those who leave the choice up to Him." I have learned to walk with God. I have learned to stay flexible and allow Him to guide me one step at a time. He often surprises me, but never disappoints me.

There are times I feel like giving up, wondering why I am struggling to be the voice of reason in a world that finds manners and civility to be a weakness and not a virtue. It gets hard! But I can't imagine living life like I used to, or being like I used to be. I don't think I would like that person today.
