What Would Mario Kart 9 Look Like?

As Mario Kart 8's legacy comes to a close, it leaves many people wondering what's next for the Mario Kart series. While there are many directions Mario Kart could take, today we're going to be exploring how a Mario Kart 9 could work on Nintendo's next console. For the kart customization, a good middle ground could be still having the option to customize the wheels, karts, and gliders, but there are also preset kart combinations you can choose in order to waste less time. It’d be especially cool if you could save and name your own kart presets, and maybe even share them with other players!

Tracks I imagine coming back should be Airship Fortess, Toads Factory, Wario Collisuem, and more.

The only thing I want in a new Mario Kart game is a Double Dash mode.
And of course if would awesome to have powerups for the specific characters where mixing and matching can compliment each other or balance things out.

I could see Nintendo adding the Wonder Flower into the game, where If someone in last place gets it, then everyone in the track has to deal with a whacky version of the Track

Keep the 12 player races for a revamped online ranked mode and make a 24/32 player mode for a social playlist along with the option to do 4 player online coop, keeping the competitive players and casuals happy 🤝

If they wanted to increase the number of racers at once again, I think realistically, 16 would be a fitting number.

Another thing for characters: Different skins per costume (not customizable, similar to the Yoshis). That way, Mario can be normal, metal, fire, etc. It would also make it so that Peachette and Pink Gold Peach don't have their own full slots. So, all kinds of characters could be thrown into the mix. Enemies like the Goomba, Spike, (Hammer/Boomerang) Bro., side characters like E. Gadd, and maybe some favorites from the Mario RPGs, as well as from the Wario games.

They should just make “Super Mario Kart” that’s just the ultimate Mario kart with all the characters like smash ultimate. And they just keep porting it to every console and when the new console comes out they just port the latest update from the previous console to the new console and end updates for the previous console and just update the super Mario kart that they ported to the new console. Same with smash bros.

On the topic of new characters for Mario Kart 9, I would like to see WarioWare character make their debut for the roster. Characters like Mona, Jimmy T, and Ashley would definitely diversify the roster and give players more options to pick favorites.

Either more racers, or the whole "wonder" gimmick. Mario Wonder showcases how it adds an entirely new layer as a gimmick to the otherwise stale mario jump n runs. The new switch should have faster RAM and storage, meaning it could pull off something like some of you might've seen on the Ratchet and Clank / Spider man PS5 trailers where new areas got loaded within portals for a smooth transition. Anyway, we should see a revolution in graphics quality.

I really want to see mission mode return from MKDS and a track maker that only allows for offline only as a feature and since it was an used scraped feature in super Mario kart would be very nice to see as well with the MKW unlock mechanic.

Well, I think the new mechanic would be that you can stop your gliding. or if you are in the air you could just push a button and the glider will reappear.

Id really love to see character specific items return from tour and double dash. I think it would bring a fun element of strategy to selecting characters aside from the basic stats. It would also allow for a lot more new and returning items without feeling too overwhelming

As long as it's not Nintendo Kart, I'm good. There's so many new characters, new gimmicks, new modes that can be done in the games. These are great ideas!

My top 5 things:
Make the game harder.
Make it possible to save kart presets.
Unlock racers just how you said it.
24 Racers MODE (not in standard mode)
SERVERS. PLEASE STOP THIS PLAYER 2 PLAYER CONNECTION...

Honestly a veryy cool thing would be if they decided to let us vote new maps for one cup that is constantly changing the maps every month. With that the game would always feel fresh. maybe even like every 6 months if that isnt too long let us vote one map they should remake for MK9 for that cup. But thats nintendo so probably not gonna see this.

I agree we need more unique characters, but some I can (or would like to) see get the axe are the baby princesses, Tanooki Mario, Cat Peach, Metal Mario, and Pink Gold Peach. We don't need repeats like them hogging slots. (Tanooki and Cat could be relegated to costumes)

We could absolutely get more enemy racers too. Goomba, Hammer Bro, Boom Boom snd Pom Pom, Spike, Chargin' Chuck, and so many more!
